What a night at the Syracuse WorkForce Run!

Our ICM Controls Team had a great time coming together outside the office to run, walk, connect, and celebrate community. It was a great example of disciplined ex*****on in action as we set a goal, supported one another, and crossed the finish line together. Events like this are a great reminder of the energy, teamwork, commitment, and dedication that make our workplace culture so strong.

For contractors, surge protection is becoming less of an add-on and more of a smart installation practice for every HVAC unit.

Modern systems depend on sensitive electronics like control boards, inverter-driven compressors, VFDs, communicating thermostats, sensors, and low-voltage controls. A single voltage surge from lightning, utility switching, power outages, motor starts, or internal electrical disturbances can lead to nuisance failures, costly callbacks, and premature component replacement.

While the NEC may not require a surge protective device directly at every HVAC unit, installing UL 1449 Listed surge protection at or near the equipment adds an important layer of defense where it matters most.
