Does construction have to stop when Minnesota freezes? š„¶
Not necessarily! While some projects require warmer weather, others can continue right through the winter.
šŖ WINDOWS: Yes, windows can often be replaced in winter! Installers work one opening at a time and use materials appropriate for cold-weather installation.
š ROOFING: Possible, but temperature matters. Asphalt shingles become less flexible in the cold, and the adhesive strips may not seal until temperatures warm up. Additional installation precautions may be necessary.
šØ SIDING: Also possible, depending on the material and conditions. Vinyl siding, for example, becomes more brittle in freezing temperatures and requires extra care during installation.
š§ GUTTERS: Often possible as long as ice, snow, and weather conditions don't create unsafe working conditions.
š” INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION: Perfect for winter! Many indoor renovation and reconstruction projects can continue year-round.
The bottom line? Cold weather doesn't automatically put construction projects on hold. The right timing depends on the materials, manufacturer requirements, and Minnesota's unpredictable weather.
And sometimes, knowing when NOT to install something matters as much as knowing how!
