Classic Example of NO waterproofing where waterproofing should be. Look at the Damage and How I repaired this in a way it Will NOT leak again--Ice and Water shield, Window wrap, Liquid Flashing is in green--so when screws and nails pe*****te into the substrate, its sealed by this waterproofing technique. It's Crazy what You Find sometimes. Even with the 2x4ers--they used Pine--I replaced them with Cedar--Anyway-Now it's ready for the Painters

Older Homes have old wood members and they tend to Dry-Out due to it being so Dry here, knocks crack, deflection and so on. A Great way to Reinforce the Floor system is to add LVL Micro-lams with 3 1/2" SDS screws every 4" - 2 rows top and bottom--Really does the Floor Justice.

When Doing Repairs on Decks and Pergolas--Use at least 4 1/2" wood screws to keep the wood members together--The Galvanized nails just don't hold up over time with the Thermals we have in Colorado. You can see the gaps with in the framing where the existing Fasteners give away.

If you want a Clean Look--Tape it, install it and peal it
Outside Trim--If your tired of the trim swelling up from water intrusion--Here's a good technique, Prime all your cuts--this one I primed 7 times to help this trim that gets hit with harsh weather every year. Now it's ready for Painting

New Caisson and Mono-Post--Home is Safe Now

Hey Can You Make Sure my Mono-Post is Good, something seems wrong, looks rusty and dirty--Can you Clean it Up for Us.

This is what I Found, the Caisson wasn't even in the right place and the Mono-Post was supporting the Home sitting on the Dirt.

So started today Rebuilding a New Concrete Hunch to Support the Home--4 Feet down into sandstone (vary hard) and chipping out the existing caisson, forming a new caisson, 5000 PSI concrete, Pour concrete, let it cure and I'll come back with a New Mono-Post
