Hurricane season is part of building along the Gulf Coast. The best time to prepare a jobsite is long before a storm enters the forecast.

One of our South Alabama Project Managers, Will Majure, recommends beginning with these seven steps to help protect people, equipment, materials, and project schedules before severe weather arrives:
✅ Secure all loose materials and debris
✅ Protect building materials and stored items
✅ Secure equipment and machinery
✅ Secure temporary structures, site facilities, and unfinished work
✅ Inspect electrical systems and utilities
✅ Inspect site drainage and erosion control measures
✅ Document the jobsite before and after the hurricane

Preparation helps minimize downtime, reduce risk, and speed recovery efforts once conditions are safe.

For those of us building across Coastal Alabama and the Gulf Coast, storm readiness is a part of responsible project management.
