🚨Project Complete: Coleman Coliseum Renovation & Expansion

We’re proud to deliver a major upgrade to Coleman Coliseum, combining a full renovation with a new addition built for Alabama Men’s Basketball.

This project enhances performance, recovery, and player experience with features like a cold plunge, hot therapy tub, and underwater treadmill. Modern digital displays and custom design elements bring the space to life, making it truly one of a kind.

Huge thanks to our team for delivering this project on time. We appreciate all the hard work!

A special thanks to our partners:
The Owner: University of Alabama Athletics
The Architect: Davis Architects

We were honored to host Alabama Senate candidate Jared Hudson at the Harrison Construction office this week. During his visit, Jared shared his vision for Alabama and spoke candidly about the role that family values play in shaping his principles and guiding his approach to public service.

He emphasized how strong families are the foundation of thriving communities, influencing everything from economic opportunity to public policy. His discussion highlighted a commitment to building a future that supports families, strengthens local communities, and encourages responsible leadership.

As we move closer to the upcoming runoff election, moments like these remind us just how important it is to stay informed and engaged in the democratic process. Every vote matters, and participating in elections is one of the most impactful ways we can help shape the future of our state.

We encourage everyone in our community to get out and vote in the upcoming runoff election. Your voice is important so make sure it’s heard.

We had a fantastic time at the Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama Young Professionals Executive Event!

This unique “speed networking” experience gave rising professionals the chance to sit down with industry leaders in small groups, rotating every 8 minutes to connect, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into both personal career paths and the construction industry as a whole. It was an energizing environment filled with meaningful conversations and real-world advice.

Harrison Construction was proud to be represented on both sides of the table—JC Fredericks and Baker Grant attended as Young Professionals, eager to learn and grow, while our President joined as one of the executives, sharing experience and perspective with the next generation of builders.

The 2026–2027 University of Alabama planning workshop got underway today, with the goal of connecting UA students with ABC members across the state.

This committee, along with one of Harrison’s VP’s Lance Wyatt, spent time walking through the student chapter’s mission, which is all about bridging the gap between the classroom and the construction industry. That theme carried through everything talked about today, from strengthening mentorship opportunities to making sure students have more access to real industry relationships before they graduate.

A good portion of the discussion focused on planning ahead, including the upcoming Fall and Spring calendar and membership growth. Ideas were shared around recruitment, getting more visibility on campus, and even expanding outreach beyond the usual majors to bring in students from other disciplines who are interested in the industry.

It was clear there’s a real effort to be more intentional, not just showing up, but building something that actually helps students find their place in this field.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of that process, now’s the time. We’re building out the committee and looking for people who are willing to stay involved and help make these connections happen.

Reach out to Lance at Harrison Construction if you’d like to join the group.

We’ve got a lot to be proud of at Harrison Construction right now. Our team has put in the work, and it’s exciting to see that effort recognized with several major safety awards.

We were honored with the Innovation in Safety Award for our Quick C.A.R.E. Kit (Construction Aid & Response Equipment). Instead of relying on the standard wall-mounted first aid kits you see on most jobsites, we developed our own trauma response bags that are packed in-house and sent out to our crews. It’s been a meaningful step forward in how we take care of our people on site.

On top of that, we also earned the Safest in the Industry Platinum Award and the STEP Health and Safety Management System Award – Silver Level.

None of this happens without the dedication of our team. Their commitment to looking out for one another and keeping safety front and center every day is what makes achievements like this possible.

Really proud of our group and the standard they continue to set.

As we spend time with family and friends, we’re also grateful for moments like these—both on and off the job. From reeling in the big ones to taking in a peaceful sunset, our team knows how to make the most of a well-earned break. 🎣🌅

Stay safe, enjoy the weekend, and take a moment to reflect on what this day truly means.

In our industry work is often measured in foundations, frames, and finished projects but some of the most meaningful things we’re part of can’t be measured in square footage.

For years, Johnny and Wilma Box, special friends of Tim Harrison and Harrison Construction family, have quietly created a place of remembrance just outside of Oneonta. What started in 2019 with a few hundred flags has grown into a breathtaking display of more than 2,000 American flags spread across their property.

The fallen 142 men and women from Blount County will all receive recognition for their sacrifice. Johnny and Wilma, together with family, will place wooden tombstones and flags every eight feet by four feet to honor each of those heroes. We were humbled to be a small part of the process by donating the materials for those markers.

This Memorial Day, we invite you to take a moment: Remember the names.
Reflect on the sacrifice.
Honor the fallen.

Thank you Johnny, Wilma, and their family members who help honor and remember those brave men and women.

Last Friday marked an exciting milestone for the City of Gadsden as officials and partners gathered to break ground on the future Gadsden Recreation Center. Harrison Construction was proud to be on site for the ceremony and honored to be the commercial construction company selected to build the metal building that will anchor this transformative project.

This recreation center represents a significant investment in the community, and we’re excited to help bring it to life with a durable, efficient metal building designed to support a wide range of athletic and recreational activities.
We’re grateful to the City of Gadsden and the entire project team for the opportunity to be part of this landmark development, and we’re looking forward to getting to work as construction moves ahead.

Tim Harrison, President of Harrison Construction and outgoing Chairman of the Board with the ABC Alabama Chapter, was proud to be a speaker yesterday with the Future Leaders in Construction (FLIC) class. It’s inspiring to see so many young professionals committed to growing in our industry.

Having members from our team who have completed the project, it is important to keep investing in training and mentorship to ensure the future of construction.

Congratulations to all the participants in this class who made the choice to become leaders in their field and thank you to ABC for helping create this outstanding group.
