Toledo is Jeep country, and this weekend we're proud to celebrate one of the city's greatest traditions at Jeep Fest!!

For over a century, The Spieker Company has been building alongside Toledo's growth. Our roots run deep in this community, and we're especially proud to have played a role in the construction of the Willys-Overland plant, where the very first Jeep rolled off the assembly line in 1941.

As thousands gather this weekend to celebrate the iconic Jeep and the city that gave it life, we're honored to be part of that story.

Here's to Toledo's hardworking spirit, its rich manufacturing heritage, and the legacy that continues to drive us forward.

🎄Christmas in July! 🎄

The Spieker Company has teamed up with WholeTrees to install three live trees inside Wegienka Elementary School in Woodhaven, Michigan!

These incredible trees were harvested in Wisconsin and expertly finished by WholeTrees, transforming them into stunning architectural features. More than just beautiful focal points, WholeTrees Decorative Trees showcase a commitment to sustainability while bringing the beauty of nature indoors in an innovative and environmentally conscious way.

We're proud to have partnered with McCarthy & Smith, Woodhaven School District, and WholeTrees on such a unique project that will create an inspiring space for students, staff, and visitors for years to come.

Amazing project to be a part of, making Toledo even better!!

After sitting vacant and deteriorating for years, Burt's Theater has once again become a vibrant part of downtown Toledo. Originally built in 1897–1898 as a vaudeville theater and later used as a movie theater and parking garage, the historic building underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation in 2024–2025 that transformed it into a mixed-use destination featuring commercial space and fifteen market-rate apartments.
The impact on the community has been immediate. New residents now live in the heart of downtown, supporting nearby restaurants, coffee shops, retailers, and local businesses. The addition of new commercial space brings even more activity to the neighborhood, creating foot traffic and energy that benefits the entire district. What was once a vacant landmark has become a contributor to downtown Toledo's economic vitality and continued revitalization.
As the only known example of Venetian Gothic architecture in Toledo, Burt's Theater is more than a restored building. It is proof that historic preservation can create housing, support businesses, strengthen neighborhoods, and reconnect communities with their architectural heritage. By adapting this unique structure for modern use, the project has preserved an irreplaceable piece of Toledo's history while helping shape its future.

If you've ever been bird watching at Maumee Bay State Park, then you'll surely appreciate this "Bird's Eye View" of the recent completion of the Boardwalk Replacement project.

From new piers, framing, decking, and railings to the stunning observation deck, every detail was designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the visitor experience while preserving the beauty of this incredible natural resource.

This project is more than a boardwalk—it's an investment in our community, our environment, and the future of one of Northwest Ohio's most treasured destinations.

Shout out to the crew that worked tirelessly throughout EVERY season and weather condition you can imagine, making sure that this project was completed ahead of schedule!

The Spieker family just got a little bigger!

Congrats to Adam Frye on the arrival of his newest grandson! His daughter, Megan, welcomed a BIG, healthy baby boy into the world on Monday, and we couldn't be happier for the entire family. Grady burst into the world at a whopping 9lbs and 22½" long! He'll be building buildings in no time! CONGRATULATIONS!

Every completed apprenticeship represents countless hours of learning, hard work, and a dedication to perfecting the craft. Derek has embraced every challenge along the way, and his commitment to developing his skills has led him to this well-earned achievement.

As a symbol of this milestone, Superintendent Danny Almester presented Derek with a DeWalt Impact Kit, a Spieker Company tradition that honors apprentices as they complete their apprenticeship and officially become Journeyman Carpenters.

Achieving Journeyman status is more than a title—it's a reflection of the knowledge, experience, and pride Derek brings to every project. We appreciate his commitment to our team and the quality workmanship he delivers each day.

Superintendent Max Lunsford and Apprentice Carpenter Tyler Lunsford traded hard hats for wedding attire this past weekend!

Tyler and his beautiful bride, Olivia, officially became Mr. & Mrs., while Max and his wife, Jamie, welcomed a new daughter-in-law into the family. It was a perfect weekend for a beautiful wedding and a special milestone for the entire Lunsford family.
