Wayfinder GIS has published a new online map for Leavitt Township Cemeteries in Oceana County, near Walkerville. These cemeteries were originally mapped a couple of years ago and Wayfinder has taken over hosting the online map and data and is performing new burial and plot owner information.
Please check out Leavitt Township Cemeteries by going to www.wayfindergis.com or directly to the online map https://www.wayfindergis.com/apps/48747f9ebae44e1391cdb1c7eba4cb3e/explore

Wayfinder is currently mapping two cemeteries in Victory Township, which is just NE of Ludington. I am just finishing up with the headstone photograghs from North and South Victory Cemeteries. These hold a bunch of veterans including several Civil War markers and a few Pioneers. This medallion was set into one of the headstones. I've never seen one like it, or even a picture of it when search. I did find information about the artwork it is based on. 'America Over the Top'.

While working in the cemeteries I map, I get a lot of visitors from resident critters. Ground Squirrels, neighboring pups, walking sticks, and so many birds.
This is Maya. I met her and her mom during their walk though South Victory Township Cemetery, just NE of Ludington. Those eyes though!! I love a puppy break.

Another year at Wayfinder GIS. This last year we have completed mapping Baroda Township in Berrien County. They have two lovely cemeteries with a lot of history. Wayfinder mapped Ruggles and Hinman Cemeteries, and organized, scanned, and attached cemetery deed records to the owner information for each lot. The township clerk can now see scans of the actual deeds along with any notes or changes at the click of a button. They have two online maps, the first is the 'pretty' map that is very user friendly for use by the public, which includes headstone photos and scans of obituaries that the clerk had saved over the years. The second map is a much more elaborate map for the Clerk to use with much more detail and functions. Thank you, Baroda Township. It has been a pleasure working with you. While completing yearly maintinence at West Riverton Cemetery in Mason County, I revisited some of my favorite headstones. I was amazed how bright they were. We washed them for the photographs from the original project and the biologic solution continued to work over time. These Befores and Afters are something else.
