In 2005, New Orleans suffered a severe blow. Friends and colleagues sent me emails, phone calls, and Skype messages asking if the robot was ready. Forager-W Ausf. A had just come off the drawing board. We built 5 by 2008, one Ausf. A, two Ausf. B, and 2 Forager-T Ausf. C. They all had four different payloads available. At that time, we were establishing a SAR group with our robots as the primary equipment. We received support from a former FEMA director, Wallace Stickney. He did everything he could to get us set up, but he agreed that the agency was becoming political. Looking back, we can take pride in the progress we've made in developing our SAR robots.
Fast forward to today, the weather is shifting and becoming less predictable, and FEMA is being closed. It may be time to reactivate the SAR concept. Forager-T Ausf. G is currently buildable. We have other robots that will take on different roles. The real plus is King Forager Ausf. B is ready to be fabricated. With significantly improved battery technology and electronics that are ten times better, our SAR robot projects have the potential to make a significant impact. People will need the help even more than ever.
Here's something I'd like to bring to you.
