Trajectory Export in Dot3D | Save your 3D camera positions & poses

Dot3D users may now directly export known camera poses / positional information as a trajectory file (with Dot3D 6.2 & up). This simple text export provides an accurate path of poses from the duration of your Dot3D scan. This can be helpful with photogrammetry workflows, GIS workflows, or any other scenario where an understanding of the path taken during scanning can be beneficial.

Ever find yourself in need of an append in Dot3D, but struggling to find a good frame to append to? Or found a good frame but Dot3D still doesn't want to re-localize for you? While this is a rare issue on indoor scans, it can definitely be a challenge for large outdoor/terrain scans.

Well, us too. So we've unlocked the following fallback options to enable appending in all scenarios. Dot3D users may now unlock more frames whenever necessary, or even force an append to a frame that isn't re-localizing on it's own. However, let's be sure emphasize the word FALLBACK! Be advised that this capability should only be utilized when traditional append workflows fail, as those are otherwise always more reliable.

Please also be reminded that even the Append feature itself is not meant to be a planned part of your workflow. You're almost always better off capturing everything in one scan, vs. breaking it up via Append. But, when those scenarios do pop up where you missed something or need to add more data, Append has you covered! www.dot3d.app/append
