A customer had brought in his brand new 16’ Colman camper. The camper did not come with a 4” square tube from factory to store the black tank discharge tube in. The customer also wanted to mount the spare tire on the back of the camper instead of the tongue of the trailer.

With a few minutes of design on AutoCad, our CNC plasma table and some steel, we made this bumper come to life just as it was intended to from factory!

Our customer can now enjoy the use of the camper without having to buy a flimsy, cheaply made aftermarket bolt on bumper kit and making it work with his platform.

Little before and after to start your week offđŸ’Ș

We took this rusty, crusty, unsafe staircase and replaced it with a brand new, clean, and code compliant staircase last week! These things see all the elements from snow, rain, insane heat, to bitter cold. They become insanely deteriorated over time and actually start rusting through the sides which over time can result in structural failure.

This one will be in service for years to come getting the residents to and from their apartments safely and securely.

Check out this small but crucial wall mount rail we did for a repeat customer of ours.

This stairwell didn’t have a wall mount rail, and one was needed to help them get up the stairs. With the wall making a 90 degree turn and the staircase having a landing in the middle, the rail had to have several elevation changes in order to meet the 34”-38” code requirement for wall mount handrails.

With a few accurate measurements we were able to form an AutoCad blueprint drawing, cut all the miters and fabricate it to perfection. Welded and blended to look as if it was made from a single piece of steel. Powdercoated to prevent excessive wear from repeat use. Everything fit perfectly, and now our customer can use the stairs with confidence.

Why not start the week off with a good before and after😳

RCCF replaced this original, deteriorated staircase in a Popeyes with a brand new, better designed up to code staircase!

We believe this was the original staircase that was built with the building. It was completely rotted on the side of the stringer where water had been collecting for years from moping the floors every night. The treads were concrete that was poured in place meaning no water was able to pass through them, and being very slick once wet. Not to mention a few of those treads being broken and hard to walk down.

We were supplied with engineered prints, we made a few shop drawings after a field measure and we got to work. We reinforced the entire stairwell opening with 4x6x3/8 angle per the engineered drawing installing epoxy threaded rod. We went with a Grip Strut tread that way the water would pass through the tread instead of collect against the stringer. Riser plates for code of course and a set of new handrails that didn’t wiggle or move when you used them.

This one wasn’t easy but it really was awesome to watch it all come together just as planned. Glad we can make the employees day a little easier giving them confidence to walk down our staircase to get to the basement.

We had the pleasure of collaborating yet again on another job with the very talented SC2 Contracting đŸ’Ș RC got to build 130’ of custom handrailing to complement the new beautifully built deck by SC2! In these rails we used a 1/2” solid “hammered” picket material that the customer opted for and it really added an awesome rustic feel to the look of everything which is just what the space was calling for. Sandblasted, zinc primed and coated with a matte black powdercoat finish by the boys over at King Coatings, these rails will be protected by all the harsh Midwest elements for years and years to come.

Outdoor kitchen area needed some custom guard rails to make the patio space safe, luckily our client called us and we already had an idea in mind for a space like this! We made these rails fascia mount that way absolutely zero patio space is sacrificed. Nothing too elaborate or busy so it doesn’t take away their view from the lake. Sandblasted, zinc primed and powdercoated with a UV protective finish coat that will last for years and years to come. Now our customer can grill and chill with confidence knowing the patio is safe for their guests and themselves.

Is it against the rules to do a throwback post on a Monday? If it is, oh well!

We never posed this job but it was a fun one, last summer the team got the opportunity to fabricate a custom interior staircase for a Doctors office in St. Louis. The staircase we built had bolt on steel treads with counter sunk bolts for the treads that way there were no obstructions. The contractor then lined the bolt on steel treads with some 3/4” wood that matched the rest of the trim. From there, RCCF then fabricated and installed a continuous inside wall mount railing and two matching wall mounts on the opposite side of the staircases for code.

This job was a blast because we were involved in every step of the way for this stairway. Makes things go a lot easier!

This one was a little different than our usual, 110 ft. Of engineered spec, galvanized after fab, pedestrian guard rail for the project going on off of Clark St. St. Charles! Keeping all the pedestrians safe from falling into the river from the Katy trail.
