Congratulations to two of our longest-tenured employees, Jim Shields and Judy Volpe, on their 25th anniversaries this month, as well as to Billy Hanson, who is celebrating his fifth anniversary with us! Their contributions to CenterPoint’s success are innumerable!

- Jim has served as a Property Accountant, Property Manager, VP/Regional Manager, VP of Customer Engagement, and, since 2022, VP of Customer Solutions.

SVP, Strategic Planning & Projects, Matt Mullarkey, reflects on Jim’s impact. “For 25 years, Jim has set the standard for property management expertise and customer service and has done so with a collaborative style and commitment to teamwork. He is respected not only within his department but across the company for putting the company’s needs first and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. And rather than looking for credit, Jim highlights the contributions of his teammates that helped him along the way. These qualities and a skill for finding win-win solutions make him a great leader of CenterPoint’s Customer Engagement Initiative.”

- Judy joined our Accounting Department in 2001, has served as Accounts Receivable Supervisor, and expanded her duties to Accounts Receivable & Vendor Supervisor in 2024. Judy is a dual-function leader, overseeing both receivables and vendor operations, and serves as a key resource across multiple departments.

Accounting Director, Michael Coy, shares, “Judy’s reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to step in wherever needed have made her an essential part of our Team.”

- Billy started with us in 2021 and has ascended to Senior Investment Analyst, Investment Manager, and National Transaction Officer in that short time.

Billy plays a key role in coordinating efforts across teams and markets, contributing to the successful ex*****on of deals and customer-facing initiatives. His exceptional organizational skills, genuine personality, and respectful nature allow him to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively. Billy works with all levels of the firm and has a unique ability to quickly adapt to the distinct microcultures within each regional team.

Cheers, and many thanks to all!

Thanks to our friends at NAIOP for featuring our West Region SVP of Investments, Pete Williams, in the “Industrial Capital Market Trends to Watch” session at the I.CON West conference in Southern California.

“CenterPoint typically seeks out well-located, infill, logistics-oriented real estate. We’ve got a strong portfolio in the South Bay and the L.A. markets. I would say going forward, it’s probably more focused on Class A.”
- Pete Williams on how his team’s investment playbook has evolved

You can use the link in the comments to read a recap of what Pete, Ryan Collins, EVP at EastGroup Properties Inc, CBRE EVP, Brian Russell, Tucker Wincele, Managing Director at Invesco, and Andrew Briner, Executive Managing Director at Newmark, had to say about the challenges investors are facing, such as interest rate and tariff uncertainty, where they’re finding opportunities, and how their strategies have evolved in recent years.
