Palouse Wind

Palouse Wind Wind power from the project would interconnect to the Avista 230 kilovolt (kV) Benewah-to-Shawnee transmission line.

The Palouse Wind project, with a potential generating capacity of up to 100 megawatts (MW), is situated on certain private wheat farms in northern Whitman County. A wind farm of 100 MW would be the largest renewable energy facility in Whitman County with the capacity to generate enough clean, renewable energy to power about 25,000 homes each year. The Palouse Wind project is proposed between the t

own of Oakesdale and State Route 195 on the hills surrounding Naff Ridge. Given the orientation and elevation of this area, it is situated perfectly to capture the prevailing Southwest wind.
