In August and September, residents will see lower electricity bills thanks to the California Climate Credit!

The California Climate Credit is funded by the State of California’s Cap-and-Invest Program, which collects money from large polluters. Every year, some of that money is used by California to fight climate change, and some goes directly to customers in the form of a bill credit.

This year, residents will receive an electric credit of $36.18 in August and $36.18 in September. The credits are automatically applied to eligible customers’ PG&E bills.

🎉⚡🚲 A little over one year ago, we launched Ava Bike Electric with one goal: to make e-bikes more affordable and accessible for our communities.

Since then, thousands of people have applied for e-bike rebates, local bike shops have helped riders find their perfect e-bike, and more people across Alameda and San Joaquin counties are choosing a cleaner, more affordable way to get around.

And the journey continues! Thanks to an additional $3 million investment, Ava Bike Electric has been extended through 2027—allowing even more residents to take advantage of instant e-bike rebates.

This milestone wouldn't have been possible without our participating bike shops, community partners, and every rider who has joined us on this journey.

🎉 Big news! Last night, Ava's Board of Directors overwhelmingly approved a one-year extension of the Ava Bike Electric program, with an additional $3M investment to keep the program running through December 2027 (instead of the originally scheduled December 2026). The final rebate drawing will take place in September 2027.

This extension means:
🚲 Another year of opportunities for Alameda County residents and Ava customers in San Joaquin County to receive instant rebates of $400–$1,500 toward the purchase of new e-bikes
⚡ Approximately 2,400 additional e-bikes on the road across our service area
💰 Continuing to drive business to our participating local bike shops
🌎 Reduced traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions by making clean transportation more accessible

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. We especially appreciate the community members, partners, advocates, and supporters who spoke up and demonstrated the incredible impact Ava Bike Electric has had across our communities.
