What’s really happening inside your conveyor chute?
Recently, our team used advanced point cloud scanning technology to capture a detailed 3D model of a chute system in a preparation plant. The 3D scan allows for a direct replacement option for your existing chute. By scanning the existing system, we can verify fl**ge mounts through multiple floors of preparation plants, allowing for bolt-together panels to minimize installation time. By doing the scan, we can identify material buildup areas, wear patterns and potential failure points, flow restrictions and opportunities to improve throughput.
At West River Conveyors, we combine field scanning, engineering expertise, and custom fabrication to help our customers maximize conveyor performance and reliability.

June is National Safety Month! As we recognize National Safety Month, it is a good reminder that fire extinguishers are one of the most important safety tools in any workplace but only if they are properly maintained and employees know how to use them. Several months ago, our employees were trained on proper use to help ensure our team is prepared to respond quickly and safely if an emergency occurs. Safety is a priority for us at WRC.

What is controlled feeding in a transfer chute design? One of the most important principles in modern conveyor transfer chute design. The goal is to ensure that material enters the receiving conveyor in a predictable, centered, and consistent stream rather than allowing it to free-fall, bounce, or impact randomly. WRC Chute Fabrication Work In Progress
This chute currently in production at West River Conveyors is designed to handle demanding material flow conditions while helping reduce wear and maintenance over time.
Key features include:
✔ 1/2” thick ceramic lining for increased wear resistance
✔ Fabricated in three bolt-together sections for installation flexibility
✔ Hinged UHMW gate and removable overflow cover for accessibility and maintenance
✔ Heavy-duty mild steel construction with reinforced fl**ges
✔ Finished with white enamel coating
Transfer points often experience some of the highest wear in a conveyor system. By incorporating ceramic lining inside the chute, we help extend equipment life and improve long-term performance in abrasive applications.
