Welders must be able to read and interpret diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required material and timeframe for each project. Welders produce metal products according to our blueprints and drawings. And must show experience in MIG welding and knowledge of the welding equipment. Will properly utilize all PPE as required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

WELDER ESSENTIAL DUTIES Welders fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the usage of MIG welders, cutters, grinders, measuring tools, drills and Oxy-fuel torch cutting. Welders set up, operate machines and maintain a clean work area. They understand and implement personal and company safety measures by wearing proper PPE as well as demonstrate effective communication skills which are essential to work with team members. Must also be comfortable operating an overhead crane as well as driving forklifts.

SAFETY • Proficient in promoting safe and healthy work environment. • Notifies supervisor of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions. • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. • Report defective materials, equipment, or questionable conditions to the supervisor/manager to identify and correct the root cause. • Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines. • Separates scrap or waste materials for recycling, reuse, or environmentally sound disposal. • Maintain cleanliness in designated workspace by practicing 6S principles to reduce safety risks. • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that all company safety procedures are followed to include OSHA compliance guidelines applicable to the duties above. • Attend a weekly department safety meeting.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written). • High school diploma or equivalent. • Valid state issued driver’s license. • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. • Ability to operate, or be trained to safely and efficiently operate a forklift. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening. • Demonstrated history of safe job performance, positive attitude, teamwork and above average attendance record. Employee will need to be able follow instruction to perform basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assembly of over the road equipment. Successful applicant will exhibit a high attention to safety processes and procedures, ability to read and follow all technical prints, procedures, and work orders to meet production standards and quality expectations. Experience/Knowledge • Capable of reading blueprints and deciphering blueprint symbols. • Experience with Diesel Engines, Electrical, and Hydraulic circuits and components. • Minimum of 3-5 years heavy equipment assembly experience with similar parts, processes, and production environment. • Overhead and Jib crane experience required. • Fork lift experience preferred. • Ability to apply concepts such as basic math skills, fractions, micrometers, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical situations, and able to convert decimals into inches. • Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure, blueprints, and bills of material (BOM's). • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
