At first glance, this home may not look like many of the factory-built homes that we’ve shared recently, and that’s exactly what makes it such a strong example of what modular construction can do. Through our virtually unlimited custom design process, factory-built homes can take on a wide range of architectural styles while still benefiting from the speed, precision, and efficiency of modular construction.

This 2,650 sq. ft. single-family home is set to be built in the Pacific Palisades as part of the fire-rebuild effort. Designed for modular construction and fire resistance, this home features a highly efficient 4-bedroom, 3-bath layout with a detached garage, composed of 6 prefabricated modules.

Taking inspiration from modernist beach homes, the design blends traditional shingle siding with clean, vertical boards all constructed from non combustible fiber cement instead of traditional wood. Unique detailing allows the vertical siding to recess visually within the overall form, introducing shadow and depth across the façade. The project demonstrates how modular construction can achieve architectural interest, special efficiency and fire resiliency within a streamlined building process.

This home is currently being built in our factory and will be delivered to our client in just a few weeks!

We had a great time hosting local infrastructure leaders last Friday at the Bevyhouse factory!

It was a privilege to lead a factory tour and deep-dive Q&A with members from the American Public Works Association (APWA) Ventura County Chapter and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Santa Barbara/Ventura County Branch.

We are grateful to be included in recent stories from The Hollywood Reporter and NPR about rebuilding after the fires and the role prefab construction can play in that recovery.

For many families, rebuilding is not only about replacing what was lost. It is about making careful choices for the future, from materials and timelines to comfort, safety, sustainability, and the feeling of home. It is about returning to a place that holds memory, while making decisions that help plan for what comes next. That is the work we are honored to support.

At Bevyhouse, we believe prefab construction can offer a more thoughtful path forward. By combining the efficiency of factory-built systems with the care and specificity of custom design, we aim to help families rebuild in exactly the way that's right for them, not limited by standard options.

We are especially grateful to the homeowners who have trusted us during such a personal chapter, and to the architects, builders, designers, and writers helping bring attention to this important moment in California housing.

Thank you to The Hollywood Reporter and NPR for including Bevyhouse in these conversations!

We are honored to have won an award from AIA Pasadena & Foothill for our fire rebuild project in Upper Hastings Ranch!

Our clients came to us after the Eaton Fire of 2025 claimed their home. Their original residence was a quintessential mid-century ranch house designed by Edward Fickett, AIA, whose post-and-beam lightness and indoor-outdoor continuity defined an era of California modernism. It was a deeply personal place, a gallery for treasured artwork and a garden they had tended for decades.

Rebuilding required honoring Fickett’s architectural DNA while responding to today’s wildfire realities. Working in collaboration with Fulcrum Architecture, we brought this vision to life through a fire-hardened, volumetric modular framework. The 2,120-square-foot home is composed of seven precision-built modules and prefabricated roof modules that create its distinctive vaulted sawtooth form. In a post-disaster environment, our Bevyhouse factory fabrication offered quality control and speed. Site and factory work proceeded in parallel because in rebuilding, time is not a luxury, but a measure of care for those who have lost a home.

The single-story plan centers on a generous communal space. From the entry, sightlines extend through the living and dining areas to the garden beyond, restoring the indoor-outdoor dialogue central to Fickett’s work. Clerestory glazing and sliding glass walls draw daylight deep into the interior, creating a flexible space for art and family life. Careful coordination enabled a large open span beneath the sawtooth roof, which was an ambitious move in modular construction. A dramatic cantilevered porch reinterprets Fickett’s floating rooflines while integrating non-combustible, fire-safe detailing.

Resilience informed every scale of design, from the fiber cement cladding and metal roofing to the high-performance energy systems. This rebuild reinforces that modular systems are not a compromise of architectural quality, but another vehicle for it. By marrying site-specific design with advanced manufacturing, we have restored a lost piece of architectural heritage as a resilient, sustainable home.

Nestled among mature oak trees on a beautiful parcel in Ojai, this 1,200 sq. ft. prefab ADU was built by our team at Bevyhouse in partnership with Sol Haus Design. The design makes the most of a compact footprint, fitting two bedrooms, two full baths, a powder room, a separate office, and a laundry room into a single-story plan that feels open and generous. Warm wood accents frame large windows and glass doors, connecting the interiors to the landscape at every turn, while a signature round window brings a playful design moment to the living space. A large deck, covered carport, and built-in spa extend the usable space outdoors. Built offsite as modular units and delivered by our in-house crew, the home was carefully craned into a tight, tree-filled site, preserving the character of the land throughout the process. The result is a home that feels like it has always belonged among the oaks.

Unique roof shapes are one of our favorite things about building custom modular here at Bevyhouse! Vaulted and gabled ceilings bring natural light deep into every room and give each home a design identity you don't expect from modular construction. Our Head of Product & Design, John Going breaks it down from the rooftop of one of our Eaton fire rebuilds in Pasadena. And the best part? We use this same approach in our Sunrise Series, three pre-designed floor plans ready to build on most lots in California. Learn more about Sunrise on our website https://bevyhouse.com/sunrise/

This 1,750 sq. ft., single-story Malibu home was created by our in-house design team as a fire rebuild with a clean, contemporary feel. A sloping shed-style roof with deep overhangs gives the home a relaxed coastal character while keeping the design sharp and intentional. The house is oriented toward the ocean, with a full-length deck and walls of windows along the front that blur the line between inside and out. A warm gray palette, dark-framed windows, and simple metal detailing let the architecture sit comfortably among the native drought-tolerant landscaping that fills the property. A detached garage mirrors the main house in shape and finish, tying the whole site together. Built using modular construction with fire-resistant materials including a Class A fire-rated TPO Membrane Roof and fiber cement cladding, the home is designed to last in a fire-prone landscape. Thank you to our clients for trusting us to bring their vision to life!

This is one of our favorite details coming together in our Eaton fire rebuild in Pasadena. Our Head of Product & Design John shows off the Heath Ceramics tile going up in the shower of this 2,120 sq. ft., 4-bedroom home, designed in collaboration with the homeowner and Fulcrum Architecture. The home draws inspiration from the original mid-century ranch house designed by Edward Fickett, AIA, with vaulted ceilings, a cantilevered front entry, and clerestory windows filling the space with natural light. Heath tile was part of the homeowner's original house, and through Heath's fire rebuild partnership, we were able to bring it into the new one. Built from 7 precision-built prefab modules with fire-resilient materials throughout, this home carries forward the legacy of what came before while being built to last for what comes next.
