On Monday night, I attended the debate in Boulder, CO between Alex Epstein and Robert Kennedy, Jr. "Should the world radically restrict fossil fuels to prevent climate change?” (I'll post a link to the debate in the comments section - it's worth the watch)

During the 2.5 hour debate, a few interesting things were exposed, one comment in particular from Robert Kennedy caught my ear. When pressed on needing global participation in reducing emissions, Kennedy said "China and India are doing their part" [1:40:51 in the video]

The graph in this post shows how far from reality that comment is and exposes the entire movement (which is mostly US-centric) as a farce. The USA has reduced emissions more than ANY other nation on the planet (thanks to best practices and American natural gas) while China/India are, by far, the worst polluters.

Throughout the debate, Kennedy repeatedly pushed solar power generation while sluffing off nuclear and hydro as inefficient and unsafe forms of energy.

Stand up for yourself and the domestic O&G industry. We do a great thing and have a great story to tell.

Ever since the U.S. shale revolution took flight in 2008, it's been a consistent theme: not just rising natural gas production but also rising proven natural gas reserves. In fact, over the past decade, the U.S. Department of Energy reports that our proven gas reserves have ballooned nearly 85% to almost 450 trillion cubic feet (Tcf). It's all turned the previous pre-shale notion that reserves were dwindling and production was in permanent decline on its head. Not even the industry itself ever envisioned how fast our natural gas business would be transformed, thanks to shale.

It's been a consistent theme since the U.S. shale revolution took flight in 2008: not just surging natural gas production but also surging gas reserves. In fact, the industry is always evolving, and we have even more gas than advertised.
