Larry Earl Tubbs, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 20, 2024 after a hard fought battle against ALS.
Larry was born February 5, 1961 to Earl Tubbs and Sandra Cunningham in Oklahoma City, OK. Larry grew up in Jones, OK where he met his beloved wife Lisa of 38 years with whom he raised three children. Larry was co-owner of EJ’s Heating & Air with his brother Mike, a company that was founded by his father, Earl. He was known for his hard work ethic, witty sense of humor, dedication to his family, and love of sports and music, especially OU. Larry’s personality brought joy to everyone he encountered and his passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. Larry’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come.
Larry is survived by his wife Lisa Tubbs; his son Justin and fiancé, Alyssa Ferencich; daughter, Heather and husband, Trevor Dougherty and daughter Cierra. He was the best Papa to his four grandchildren, Oakley and Avery Tubbs and Mila and Knox Dougherty. He was also survived by his father, Earl Tubbs and wife, JoAnn; brother, Mike Tubbs and wife Priscilla; sister, Cindy Cooley and husband Tim; brother Johnny Longton and wife Susan; brother, Jimmy Longton and husband, Joshua Shade.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Cunningham; grandparents, Loran and Edna Cunningham; grandparents, Edward and Winnie Tubbs; stepmother, Verna Tubbs; and mother-in-law, Ophelia Howard.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Hibbs Funeral Home Chapel.
