Send some birthday love to JT Harrison!

“What we love most about JT is how steady he is. He always shows up with a great attitude and doesn’t get riled up about much. He’s a valued member of our team.”

A Shellback earns more than a title. The tradition represents honor, perseverance, and the commitment to see something through.

At Shellback General Contracting, integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is looking. It means keeping our word, standing behind our work, and doing business the right way from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.

The Shellback name has roots in the Navy, but the values behind it show up in everything we build. Are you a Shellback? Tell us where you crossed the line or tag someone who did. We’ll send a Shellback T-shirt to the Shellbacks who connect with us this month!

Being a Shellback means earning your place through perseverance, teamwork, and a willingness to take on whatever comes your way. We believe those same qualities matter on every project we take on.

At Shellback General Contracting, we show up with Energy. We build with Quality. We work with Unity. We lead with Integrity. And we put People first.

That’s what the Shellback name means to us.

Know a fellow Shellback? Tag them below or send us your Crossing the Line story. We’re sending Shellback T-shirts to the Shellbacks we hear from!

We have some birthday twins at Shellback! Send some well wishes to our Sr. Carpenter, Lalo Urban and our Estimator, Nash Taylor.

“We are proud of the incredible work Lalo puts out. He takes great pride in crafting beautiful projects.”

“Nash AKA BIG DOG is such a fun addition to our team, and we love working with him.”

We had a chance to sit down with our own Matt Richardson to talk about his time in the Navy as a Shellback and how it shaped him as a leader and business owner. ⚓️

What does it mean to be a Shellback?

In the Navy, a Pollywog is a sailor who hasn’t yet crossed the Equator. Once they make the journey, they take part in the centuries-old “Crossing the Line” ceremony and earn the title of Shellback.

But the tradition represents more than crossing a line. It’s about perseverance, teamwork, pride, and camaraderie.

Those are qualities we’re proud to carry into our work every day, and they’re a big part of why we chose the name Shellback General Contracting.

Are you a Shellback? Tell us where you crossed the line or tag a Navy buddy who earned the honor with you! We would love to send you a Shellback t-shirt.

Congratulations to Shellback’s own Carly Richardson on being honored with the Visionary Award for Visionary Leadership and Dedication to UCREW at CREW-OKC’s 10th Anniversary Gala!

Carly’s leadership, vision, and commitment to investing in others have made a lasting impact throughout the commercial real estate community and at Shellback.

We’re incredibly proud to see her recognized for the leader she is and the difference she continues to make. This award is so well deserved, Carly! We’re lucky to have you leading the way.
