Friday September 4th, 2026 El Niño UPDATE! Well folks, the new data is in and the latest forecast CONTINUES to REDUCE the chances of a “Super El Niño” Bottom Line: The 2026-27 El Niño looks to be very nearly the exact same strength as 1998 and 1983, although the geographical extent of warm water is greater. Still expect a wet Fall and Winter but the “Super part is less Super than the tremendous build-up”. The strong El Niño is projected to rapidly drop off into mid-Spring 2027. Oklahoma Spring 1984 and 1999 were quite active with above normal strong 🌪️’s. Mike 9.4.26
