What a fantastic article in Design Develop Construct (DDC) Journal on Ascent Apartments, our multifamily project in KCMO where we are constructing 341 units for NorthPoint Development adjacent to their corporate headquarters. This is a signature project for our client and we were happy to collaborate with the article.

NorthPoint's Development Manager Jack Mills provided superb technical insights into the project and the inherent challenges of building on a hilltop site. There were quotes included from NCCI Co-President | CEO Aaron Neighbors, and we also supported the article with an ad celebrating the great fact that 2026 is the 20 Year Anniversary of our working relationship beginning with Nathaniel Hagedorn, CEO of NorthPoint. We are proud to be a part of their ongoing success in multifamily construction.

Arrivekc Apartments is proudly our biggest and most complex project in our company's 75 year history, sizing in at 537,831 SF with 371 luxury units, high-class amenities and an integrated ​174 space parking garage.

It's an exciting time preparing for the community's first move-ins occurring on May 15, when our team will deliver the First Turnover of 68 units, the completed clubhouse, 1 guest suite and the south parking garage!

In June we will turn over 88 units and the 2nd guest suite, followed by 99 units in August, and the remaining 116 units in December to close out the project.

These images from early April show the site at the peak of construction; we have up to ​150 workers currently on site everyday. ​

NCCI Vice President & ArriveKC Project Manager Fletcher Harder provides insight stating, "The coordination on a project this scale has been the most challenging and demanding part of this project. Standard multi-family product delivery methods won't work for a project like Arrive KC. The access around the building is very tight and coordinating two tower cranes, 9 mast climbers, and traditional scaffolding has required our crews to re-think how work is to be completed. NCCI supervisors and all trade partners have risen to the challenges required to keep Arrive KC on schedule.​"

Our team is making great progress at CORE II | CORE Luxury Apartments where we have 153 units under construction on the Berkley Riverfront. It is a very interesting time right now, with drywall going on the 5th floor, insulation on the 4th floor, and MEP work continuing on 3rd and 2nd floors. We build from the ground up, then complete the inside from the top down. Many thanks to all the trades on site progressing this job everyday.

The KC Streetcar will be operational this spring and will be a true gamechanger for this community, the Berkley Riverfront & Kansas City as a whole!

This week the Kansas City Streetcar extension was making test runs to the Berkley Riverfront and will be operational this spring! Thanks to Tom Gerend, his team, and many others, we will soon be celebrating an exciting milestone is our city's history and bright future!

Port KC has many beautification initiatives planned along the riverfront and the completion of the streetcar stop serves as an exciting connection to downtown Kansas City.

Witnessing the transformation of the Berkley Riverfront since the Groundbreaking for CORE Luxury Apartments in July 2020 has been extraordinary, and our team is progressing on 154 units in Phase II for NorthPoint Development seen in the background of this image.

Soon you'll be able to ride the Streetcar to play sand volleyball, bike, rollerblade, visit Two Birds One Stone, check out a KC Current game, and of course, luxury living at CORE I & II, and more, awaits on the !

The site at Olathe Commons is a flurry of activity with 20+ bulldozers, trackhoes, off-road trucks, and skidsteers all moving dirt and preparing site infrastructure. Seeing all the earthmoving equipment in action is like a little kid's dream - except the toys are bigger and so is the sandbox, sized at 23 acres.

We completed the construction of 119th Terrace in January, an access road connecting the community to Olathe Pointe Shopping Center. Water service connections are taking place in preparation for road improvement, and this week we are completing soil stabilization and laying base rock in preparation for asphalt in early April.

Our concrete team has been laying footings and pouring slabs on Phase I for the first phase of 6-plexes and single-family cottages while our framing team has been in panelization mode, prefabricating wall panels for cottages in the adjacent parking lot. We are looking forward to beginning vertical framework in the very near future.

About the Project:

Olathe Commons is located along 119th Street just blocks west of Black Bob Road, and is designed by BSB Design and Phelps Engineering, Inc.. Constructed for PeakMade Real Estate and Open House Group, the 23-acre build-to-rent community will include a mix of (60) single-family cottages, (4) 4-plex townhomes and (23) 6-plex townhomes totaling 214 units.

Neighbors Construction Company began earthwork and utility work in Summer 2025 with delivery of first units expected in late Fall 2026. Project completion is anticipated for early winter 2027. Behold, the first completed units have ARRIVE'd at Arrivekc Apartments!

On May 1, we are excited to turn over Phase I consisting of 68 units, 1 completed guest suite, the completed clubhouse and the south parking garage.

Ranging from studios, 1 BDs, 2 BDs & Penthouses, ArriveKC unit finishes include custom melamine cabinetry, quartz countertops, stainless appliances, subway tile backsplashes, composite wood flooring, carpeted bedrooms, tiled showers, plus modern lighting and black matte hardware.

The units seen in these images are located on the SW corner of the building, and they are so sunny and bright. We are very proud of our team and appreciate everyone who has been a part of this transformative project!

We are thrilled to share this fantastic article in Ingram's Magazine on our company's transition in 2025 to 3rd Generation Ownership & celebrating our 75 Year Diamond Anniversary in 2026!

If you missed our NYE 2025 post, that is when we announced that in 2025, Roger Neighbors and Nancy Neighbors have sold the company and are still active in the company, approaching retirement and leaving a long legacy to be very proud of. They sold 70% to Aaron Neighbors and Ryan Neighbors who are Co-Presidents, and 10% each to Nick Sobba, Fletcher Harder and Ryan Terrill who have been promoted to the Executive Team and are now Vice Presidents and minority owners of the company.

We are working on an incredible array of projects right now and the future is bright at NCCI. Many thanks to our fans and followers for your enthusiasm and support as well.

We appreciate our friends Joe & Michelle Sweeney at Ingram's Magazine, and Dennis Boone for the wonderful editorial write-up that encompasses the complete, rich history of our company.

In 2025, we welcomed many new team members, we gained new clients, plus we delivered Trilogy Luxury Apartments, Ellis Glen Apartments and Mission Flats leased by At Home Apartments of KC. The work we do is not easy, but we’ve had a lot of fun along the way, plus as we are celebrating our 75th Diamond Anniversary in 2026!
