NES Salute 🫡

On his 19th anniversary (to the day), a big shout-out to our grind line supervisor, Craig Cobb.

In October 2007, Cobb didn’t even know he was at a job interview when he was soon offered a machining position here. Nineteen years later, he’s one of the leaders on a plant floor that produces parts in support of rockets, national defense and other aerospace, aviation and gas turbine applications.

Thanks, Cobby, for all your hard work, dedication and guidance over nearly two decades! 👊🔵⚪️

While National Manufacturing Day is recognized annually on the first Friday of October, the initiative extends across the entire month as National Manufacturing Month 🛠️⚙️
And in recognition, we have plenty of festivities planned!

First up, a visit from two student groups at Salamanca Central School.
We’re excited to welcome Salamanca for facility tours throughout the day today! We have a great presentation planned and look forward to sharing some of the cool things happening in the local manufacturing sector, especially right here at NES! 🔵⚪️

🌟 Employee Spotlight 🌟
▶️ Jordan Good

In September, we highlighted Jordan Good, a skilled and veteran machinist in our grind line channel.
Jordan, one of our several Alfred State graduates, joined NES right out of college in 2019. And in the seven years since, he’s become one of the linchpins on his end of the plant floor, running multiple machines, helping to manage daily operations and dispensing his wisdom to others as an all-around high-character member of our team.

“Jordan has consistently demonstrated initiative, reliability and a team-first attitude, taking on additional responsibilities without hesitation,” said Chris Truman, NES’ vice president of business operation. “His ability to keep things moving and support those around him has not gone unnoticed, and his continued growth as a leader is greatly appreciated.”

Chris Napoleon, our president, was honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Allegany County Professional Development Day on Friday morning at Cuba-Rushford Central School 👩‍🏫🤝

The theme was “Innovation, Creativity and Problem-Solving.”

Addressing an auditorium of dozens of educational personnel, Napoleon provided a bit of background on his own professional journey and some of the enterprising things we’re doing at NES while reinforcing our enduring message on the importance of putting students at the starting line toward a rewarding and challenging professional career – in advance manufacturing or otherwise – the character traits they must develop to run the race, and what we can do as business leaders, parents and teachers to help get them to the finish line.
And if we’re successful in that, what awaits is the opportunity for all of us to “live the lifestyle of our dreams.”

Thanks to all in attendance and to Allegany County and Cuba-Rushford for allowing Napoleon to share what we hope was a motivational message 🔵⚪️

… To a young Chris Truman standing outside the recently purchased Adams Street building (our third location), circa 2000.

Truman has been with the company essentially from the beginning, working part time from 1998-’00 while attending the University at Buffalo, transitioning to a full-time role upon his graduation in 2003 and working alongside President Chris Napoleon in all aspects of the business ever since.

Chris has been a foundational pillar in NES’ growth over the last 29 years. And he remains so today, now as the company’s vice president of business operations 🔵⚪️
