Matt is an attentive, hard-working assembly room specialist who focuses on bearing offset grinding. He primarily runs our Okamoto surface grinder but also provides general support to the department. Simply put, Matt puts his nose to the grindstone each and every day 🔵⚪️

To one of our first appearances in the Olean Times Herald, which wrote a nice story about our growth to that point in the spring of 2007.

We’ve come a long way since then, becoming a leading custom bearing manufacturer for the aerospace and aviation industries, housing the largest independent bearing inspection and testing facility in North America and even having our name (mostly) spelled correctly by customers and the media! 😄🔵⚪️

Next up: Nate Robertson, our diligent testing design engineer.
For our bearing testing programs, Nate is responsible for designing in CAD the tooling needed for the test rig, creation of the tooling manufacturing drawings, purchasing any other needed components as well as working with our technicians during the assembly of the test into the test rig 🔵⚪️

To breaking ground on our current location at 1601 Johnson Street in Olean on Dec. 8, 2009. We officially opened the new facility just over a year later in January 2011.

Fun fact: Everyone in this picture who worked at NES in December 2009 STILL works here (in some capacity) 17 years later!

It was our pleasure to once again participate in the CA DIDI Summer Teacher Experience! 😎👩‍🏫🛠️

Another excellent CA-DIDI program, this week-long event is designed to help local teachers develop a better understanding of, and appreciation for, STEM education and advanced manufacturing companies in our area.
And it was great to be part of the event, held July 27-31, again this year.

NES’ Chris Napoleon served on the opening panel alongside representatives from the Cattaraugus-Allegany Workforce Development Board, Sol Epoxy, Mazza and Cutco. The panel answered questions and facilitated meaningful discussion about career and internship opportunities, partnerships and how we can continue to develop local talent.
After lunch on Monday, we welcomed about 12 new area teachers (and some students!) for a presentation and tour of our facility. As part of our program this year, visitors got to hear from several of our engineers and department managers, who spoke about their pathways to NES and what they do here.

Thank you to the teachers who came out and to everyone who’s helping to stage such a great event this week. NES is proud to serve as a conduit between our classrooms and the many amazing manufacturing opportunities right here in our backyard! 🔵⚪️
