Our Story
Bill Hillman established The Mansion Glass Company in 1973. Over the years Mansion Glass has become one of the country's leading glass commission studios. To date it has produced over 3000 one-of-a-kind stained glass installations for churches, residences, hospitals, restaurants, banks hotels and casinos. Bill communing with some friends for inspirationIn addition his on-going role with Mansion Glass, Hillman has created many autonomous pieces shown in galleries and museums. His work has been featured in Glass Magazine, Glass Studio Magazine, Artweek, House Beautiful, and numerous other publications. In 1984, a commission by Spectrum Glass Company to create a design that used their entire line of glass in one window evolved into the now famous Bill Hillman "Marble Poster" that resides, among other places, in the Smithsonian Institute. Bill is a National Merit Scholarship winner and a graduate of The Evergreen State College with a degree in Psychology. He has also worked as a therapist and as a staff member of the Washington State Arts Commission. His interest in travel, astronomy and history are often reflected in his gallery art glass pieces.
