2026 Vrana Civil Family Fun Day is officially in the books.

On Sunday, roughly 150 Vrana Civil team members and family members took over Fun-Plex to celebrate a strong first half of the construction season.

There was BBQ, water slides, sunshine, and enough kids running around to remind us why we build infrastructure instead of trying to manage a theme park.

The Lazy River was apparently the place to be. After a long construction season, it turns out sitting in a tube and doing absolutely nothing is a highly valued skill.

We are also happy to report that everyone who rode the new roller coaster has been accounted for. A few may still be emotionally processing the experience, but overall we're considering it a success.

In all seriousness, days like this are a good reminder that behind every project, bid, change order, and concrete pour are great people and great families. We're lucky to have both.

Thanks to everyone who came out. We're already planning next year's event, and based on the feedback we've received, we may just rent out the Lazy River and call it a company wellness program. 🌊🍔🎢

Good job to our paving and project crews on the 36th Street project. This week marked a major milestone on this $8 million NDOT project as they successfully completed one of the most complicated pours of the job—and absolutely crushed it.

Large pours like this don't happen without strong planning, teamwork, and ex*****on. The crew delivered every step of the way.

As our theme this month reminds us, "Set the Tone." This team did exactly that and has set the standard for the many large pours still ahead this month. Great work by everyone involved. 💪🚧

We were proud to help pull the Ralston High School football team in the parade. Marc Chamberlain looks pretty calm here, but there may have been a few moments when he was wondering if the truck had enough horsepower for all those future linebackers.

Next year, we might just bring the lowboy. 🚛🏈😂

The calm before the storm... or in our case, the calm before the paving crews start asking if we're done yet. 😂

June was a huge month for our underground crews. Deep sanitary sewer, massive storm sewer, basin construction—you name it, they put it in the ground. These guys flat out got after it while keeping safety and quality at the forefront. Glen Schroeder and Marc Chamberlain continue to deliver time and time again!

Now that the underground work has paved the way (pun intended), it's Anthony L Hulett and the paving crews' turn to shine in July. No pressure, Anthony... everybody is counting on you now. 👀

And yes, before anyone asks, that's Bill Sharlyne O'Dell in the first picture. Bill made it known that if he was going to be on Facebook, he'd prefer a "pretty picture." We did our best, Bill.

Great month by everyone involved. Let's keep the momentum rolling and start turning all that underground work into some fresh concrete. 🚧💪

One of the best days of the year is coming up: Father’s Day 😁.

At Vrana Civil, family isn’t just something we talk about… it’s a core part of who we are. It’s always been that way, and it always will be. Family comes first.

We’re lucky to have a lot of father/son duos out there helping keep our jobsites running every day. It’s pretty special to see that carry on from one generation to the next.

Here’s to all the dads - hope you get a relaxing Sunday… (although if you’re anything like the ones pictured here, we all know “relaxing” isn’t really in the cards).

Wilson, Grant Perry's son picture below, did say he’s washing Dad’s truck this weekend. We’ll see if he follows through.

If someone doesn’t love a good donut…we honestly don’t know how to help you—especially in this line of work. That might be a red flag.

For reference, Anthony L Hulett (bottom left) clearly spends some time in the gym…and still put down at least two like it was part of the workout plan.

Also—we know not every crew got donuts today. Relax, we didn’t forget you. Yours are coming. We just happened to avoid Bill Sharlyne O'Dell today…because somehow every time donuts show up, they end up in the passenger seat of his truck and never make it much farther.

All jokes aside, these crews earned them. It wasn’t an easy week, but they kept showing up, pushing through, and found a way to finish strong.

Now if we can keep the rain out of here…we might actually start getting dangerous next week.

Great leaders train their replacements and it starts here. 👷‍♂️

Excited that construction season is officially here and even more fired up that our first internship class is underway. 🏗️

Meet two of our interns who are currently being shown the ropes by one of our rising leaders, Dylan Kuel (center): 🚧

Jacob (right) is a student at UNO and has had a construction itch since he was a kid working alongside his grandfather. I’ve already seen photos of him manhandling the jumping jack compacting storm sewer trenches… safe to say, he’s going to fit in just fine. 💪

Lincoln (left) is a student at MCC and has been working with his hands his entire life, learning from his dad along the way. One cool connection our President, Grant Perry, found—they are both tied to Mick Doyle’s boxing gym. Lincoln trains there weekly, and growing up Grant and his dad, Troy Perry, and used to spar there together. Lincoln has officially re‑energized the long‑running family debate over who won those sessions 20 years ago. Grant says he definitely won....Troy begs to differ. 🥊

We’ve got a few more interns joining soon, but we’re excited to watch these young guys grow, learn the trade, and help push Vrana Civil to the next level.

And as a bonus—one of our new 2026 amenities is the bottomless cookie jar for visitors… which tells us it’s probably about time for another refill.

Making solid progress on the Compost Relocation project for Pink Grading Inc. Vrana Civil is proud to be constructing the stormwater basin (over 1,000 CY of concrete) and installing the sanitary and storm sewer systems.

With the project located adjacent to a creek, it requires precise coordination and careful planning every step of the way. Our crews have done an excellent job adapting to site conditions, staying efficient, and—most importantly—keeping safety at the forefront.

To our pour crew members out there...I know its slow right now, but we have a lot of paving right around the corner. WE PROMISE!
