Some buildings deserve a second chapter. 📚

Originally built in 1912 as the David Cole Creamery, this historic building was transformed into the new Downtown Branch of the Omaha Public Library.

E&A is proud to have supported bringing this project to life—from gathering detailed site information before design began to planning how the property would function for visitors. Our team helped design the parking layout, sidewalks, landscaping, and surrounding streets to create a safe, welcoming, and accessible experience. We also worked alongside the construction team to help answer questions, review progress, and keep the project moving from the design table to opening day.

We're proud to have helped preserve a piece of Omaha's history while creating a community space that will serve generations to come.

As part of our Summer Internship Program, this year's interns organized a week-long school supply drive benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands and Completely KIDS . To make giving back even more fun, they turned it into a department-wide competition, with teams earning (and losing!) points based on the supplies they donated.

By the end of the week, E&A employees had donated 3,464 school supply items along with $225 in monetary donations to help local students start the school year prepared for success! 🤩

Congratulations to our Construction Administration team for taking home the championship—and an even bigger thank you to everyone who participated. We're proud of our interns for leading an initiative that brought our people together while giving back to organizations making a lasting impact. 💙📓✂️

Happy 15th Anniversary, Brenda! 🎉

Brenda joined E&A in the summer of 2011 as an Assistant Comptroller, and was promoted to Controller in December 2025.

Over the past 15 years, Brenda has been a steady force behind the scenes, helping ensure our financial records are accurate, our reports are reliable, and our team has the information needed to make informed decisions.

When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Brenda shared:

"I enjoy the structure and consistency that accounting provides in the variety of responsibilities of managing accounts payable and receivables, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and preparing tax documents. While it often happens behind the scenes, I find fulfillment in ensuring that every financial transaction is accurate, every report is clear, and every decision is supported by reliable data and financial records."

Looking back on her time at E&A, Brenda says one of the biggest changes she's seen is our continued commitment to putting people first:

Bridges do more than connect roads. They connect people, farms, businesses, and communities. 🛣️

E&A partnered with Holt County to replace an aging bridge southeast of Atkinson with a new crossing over the Elkhorn River that's built to serve the community for years to come. The project also included raising and rebuilding the roadway leading to the bridge, improving drainage to better handle weather conditions, rebuilding nearby field and driveway entrances, and adding new guardrails and other safety features to create a smoother, safer trip for everyone who uses the route.

Congratulations to our CEO, Jason Thiellen, on helping lead a significant milestone for Nebraska.

As President of the Welcome Home Coalition, Jason spent years working alongside industry partners, researchers, and state leaders to advocate for the Community Improvement District (CID) Act. Signed into law this spring, the legislation provides communities with a new tool to help fund the infrastructure needed to support housing and future growth.
