👀you really can’t always see the problem from the outside.

we came out to replace the window wraps on this house and found rotten wood underneath. one window was even bad enough that there was a mushroom growing out of it.

instead of covering it back up, we replaced the damaged wood first and made sure everything was solid before putting the new wraps on.

it takes a little more time, but we’d rather fix the problem than hide it.

if you’re getting your windows wrapped, ask what’s underneath. 👀

If my mom needed new siding, these are the 3 things I’d want her to know before hiring a contractor.

Not every contractor is going to explain the important stuff upfront - and those little details can make a huge difference in how your siding performs years down the road.

Ask questions. Know what’s included. And don’t be afraid to get a second opinion.

Your house is a big investment. You should feel good about who you trust with it.

Save this for the next time you’re getting a siding quote.

Twenty five years in, and nobody has ever called us because they wanted a sales pitch.

They call because something’s wrong and they can’t get a straight answer about it.
So we built the Homeowner’s Compass. Short videos, real answers, no hassle. Insurance claims, hail damage, what things actually cost, all of it.
It’s live on our site now. Link in bio.

Easy window wrap day, or so we thought. 💭

Whoever wrapped these last never caulked them. Water had been getting behind the metal for years and the wood underneath was completely rotted out. Looked perfect from the street. Came off in my hand.🤚

That metal around your window is just a cover. There’s real wood back there doing the actual work. We tore it all out, replaced every piece of rotted brick mold, rewrapped it right, and sealed it up. Homeowner’s good for a long time now.
Take a look at your own window corners. If the metal is bubbling or pulling away from the window, water is already in there.

Free advice from the person who gets paid if you say yes is not really advice.

That is the spot most homeowners get stuck in. Somebody knocks, walks your roof, and hands you a verdict. You have no way to check it, so you either sign or you stall.

We built The Homeowner’s Compass so you can walk into that conversation already knowing what you are looking at. What normal wear looks like. What actually needs attention. What can wait a season.

It is free, there is no form, and nobody calls you after. Use it and hire someone else if you want. We would rather you know what you are buying.🤝❤️

Nobody calls us about their chimney chase.
They call about a water stain on the living room ceiling. By then the chase has looked like slide one for two or three years.

That’s a wood box sitting on your roof taking sun, hail, and every winter Omaha’s got. When the paint goes, the wood drinks. When the trim lets go, water runs down the inside of the wall where nobody sees it.

Here’s the free part: go stand in your yard and look up at yours. If you can see bare wood from the ground, it’s been going a while.
