Winter’s coming — is your adhesive ready? ❄️
As temps drop, roofing crews bundle up... but your adhesives need protection too!
When canisters or pails get too cold, they can spit, sputter, or lose tack — leading to slower installs, wasted material, and weak bonds.
Here’s how to keep your adhesives job-site ready this winter:
✅ Use heated canister blankets to keep your spray consistent.
✅ Store off concrete floors on pallets or carts.
✅ Plan deliveries so canisters go straight into warm storage.
If one does get cold — don’t panic. Most can be brought back to life by warming gradually to at least 60°F (15°C) (never with direct heat).
You can also use warm water under 100°F (38°C) to help speed recovery. Once warmed, shake or rock the canister to restore the proper spray pattern.
💡 Cold adhesives = inconsistent spray = wasted time and money.
Keep them warm, and your bond strength — and your schedule — stay solid.
