New house getting started!

Hello,

Thank you again for the kind thoughts, well wishes and prayers as I have undergone recent medical challenges. My entire family deeply appreciates the support and love we have been shown. It’s been a rough few months for Jenny as well as she had her own surgery and now she’s taking care of me.

Here is a brief update about my condition, and what comes next. Incredibly they released me from the hospital Monday evening. They will treat the infection from my brain that was dealt with during surgery using antibiotics and other medicine. This will take many weeks and barring an infection, or something unforeseen, I should have a full recovery. The team at Nebraska Medicine is amazing.

Quite a few of you have asked about helping in some way. That is greatly appreciated and we may set up a meal train or some thing and if that happens, we will post it. If you reach out to us, we can make some other arrangements.

The McDaniel family will get through this just fine. We appreciate your patience as it relates to how this life event affects other areas of, such as work, etc. If you’d like to stop by for a visit while I’m recovering, just let me know. I will have to be smart about not overdoing it but life is short so it’s good to see your friends.

We all have a lot of challenges in life and it’s great to work hard to help one another. There’s also a lot of good in life too, and we all benefit from it when we’re feeling well, so don’t take that for granted. It’s very encouraging to see people support one another, so keep it up. ❤️

Well check brain surgery off the list. A huge thank you to Dr. Thorell, the Nebraska Medicine team, the nurses for taking good care of me and for acting quickly on what could’ve been a catastrophic situation. Next up we kill what’s left of the brain infection and that is looking positive! I can’t thank you enough for your support, prayers and the kindness you are showing Jenny and Maren.

I’m gonna get through this. I’ll need to be a “patient” patient. I feel the strength I’m getting from God and all you dear people. I have received more notes of encouragement than I deserve and they are helping to keep me strong. I hope to get out of ICU whenever a room is ready and then you can visit if you’d like. If you’re personally going through anything, hang in there and try to find joy in the small things life offers, our circumstances can change in an instant. Thank you so much for caring. ❤️🙏🏼

Last week, one of our employees had to have his right leg amputated from the calf down. It is sad and tragic. It will be quite a few weeks before he can get fit for a prosthetic leg. With some help from a few clients, we have worked to set up a fund. We do not wish to obligate anyone, but wanted to make folks aware of the situation. It was a slow go this year with outside projects, this didn't help!

Plentiful sunshine and SSE winds will warm us into the mid to upper-60s this afternoon! Low-70s possible southwest of the Metro. Conditions may be a bit breezy at times, with winds 7-20 mph.
