The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting and generating new scale sales, in the industrial and heavy capacity environment. This position requires maintaining existing accounts and cold calling on potential accounts in the field to generate new permanent sales and service. The hours of responsibility may vary by location or travel necessity. The successful candidate will need to reside in Central or Western Nebraska or Denver, Colorado as the job will be servicing a broad area.
REPONSIBILITY OF POSITION
• Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
• Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.
• Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
• Determine and support the needs of the customer by recommending and providing required products and extended services.
• Handle customer questions, complaints and concerns
• Regularly meet with Sales Manager to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
• Meet or exceed the new business sales goals.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
• Must present and communicate in a professional manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be organized with good time management skills.
• Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
• Previous cold calling experience. Able to speak to new people face to face with confidence.
• Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies.
• Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
• Agricultural industry experience, a plus.
• Heavy capacity, Industrial weigh scale experience preferred but not required
• Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
• Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, or line of business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or equivalent field experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years outside business-to-business sales with a proven track record of success.
• One year of experience in a customer-facing sales role (business to business).
• Good Driving record, history checked prior to employment.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and training.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Some office environment time with majority of time traveling to and from businesses.
• Prolonged sitting in vehicle or office.
• Bi-weekly overnight travel
Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 / year plus commissions. Obtain $100K+ with strong work ethic and effort.
