We think 10-plus years says a lot about a person.
It says they show up, and they take great care of people. This May, we’re celebrating Shawn Luebbe, HVAC Service Technician, for 13 years of service, and Ian Biehl, Service Plumber, for 11 years. Both Shawn and Ian took time to reflect on their first day, all those years ago, and here's what they said:
"My first day, I really didn't know what to expect. It was somewhat different from what it is currently, but the people are why I stayed. I didn't know much at all and learned mostly on the job. I left my previous job of 10 years to completely change careers, hoping to learn a trade. Over the years, I've learned a lot, from troubleshooting HVAC systems and HVAC maintenance to duct cleaning and talking to customers. But overall, my first week, I was just trying to remember people's names and their roles. I was also out in the field with Brian and Thad carrying their toolbag." - Shawn
"The first day was fun. I was just a wild 20-year-old kid with fishing being my #1 priority. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect when I started working here, just needed a job. But then I saw how special this place really is. Everybody was going the extra mile, our culture was just so fun, and the real sense of employee appreciation was unlike anywhere I had worked before. I just knew it was a place I could grow. Since then, I have been running calls on my own for quite a while now. I feel lucky that I took a leap of faith and decided to work here. Wouldn't change a thing. And, I am still going fishing all the time." - Ian
