This project was very near and dear to me. The knife on the right in the first photo was made by Western USA and carried by my grandfather when he was deployed to Vietnam and it shows some of the wear and tear of battle. The knife on the left is my recreation of his knife. I've always loved this knife and carried it for a few years until the sheath started deteriorating more and more. So I've had it put up, and when I got started making knives I told myself I'd make one just like it when my skill set could support that dream, and today I've officially accomplished it. Now, I can put grandpa's knife in the family safe so it can remain intact for future generations.

Very busy day in the forge. From top to bottom we have a 6" Damascus clip point hunter, hidden tang 4" skinner with gut hook, hidden tang fillet, full tang hawkbill, 3 3-4" hunters, 5" cleaver, and a pair of push daggers. (Psst, only the top two are claimed!)

First knife of 2025 completed. This one goes to my nephew as a late Christmas gift
