New York finalized its FY2027 State Budget last week, and it included several important investments and reforms that support the continued growth of rooftop solar, community solar, and energy storage across the state.

Highlights include:

☀️ $200 million in new funding for the NY-Sun program

🔌 New efforts to improve interconnection transparency and grid flexibility

💡 Continued focus on lowering costs and delivering affordable energy solutions for New Yorkers

These investments represent a meaningful commitment to expanding access to clean energy, lowering utility costs, supporting local jobs, and building a more resilient grid.

We're grateful to the legislators, local leaders, and clean energy champions (including many of our customers, peers, and partners!) who helped advance these priorities. The work isn't done, but this is PROGRESS. 💪☀️⚡

A beauty install-in-progress from our Onsite Energy Services crew. 😍☀️

🌞 Prime sunny season is here, which means your solar array should be soaking up every bit of it.

This time of year is when solar energy systems typically produce some of their highest output, but only if everything is functioning properly.

This spring, our O&M team has already helped catch inverter issues, communication errors, and other performance problems before they turned into major lost production during peak season.

Now’s a good time to check:

✔️ Monitoring alerts
✔️ Inverter communication
✔️ Vegetation growth or shading
✔️ Overall asset health

⏰ The clock is ticking on commercial solar tax credits.

If your organization is considering solar, these are two important deadlines to know:

📅 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
Projects that begin construction by this date can safe harbor the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) and have until 2030 to be placed into service.

📅 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳
Projects that miss the safe harbor deadline must be fully operational by the end of 2027 to claim the tax credit.

From businesses and farms to schools and nonprofits, solar can help organizations reduce operating costs and create long-term energy savings.

At first glance, this looks like a pretty standard ground-mount array…Then you do a double take. 👀

These custom-designed posts were built to allow cows to move freely underneath this solar energy system for grazing, shade, and heat relief. The same space will soon be both a renewable power engine and working farmland. ☀️⚡️🐄

We’ve been capturing some behind-the-scenes moments from this Finger Lakes installation, and trust us… there’s a lot more to this project than meets the eye. And we can’t wait to share! More soon.☀️
