The Alabama Coastal Program is nearing completion of their Lower Perdido Islands Restoration Project that will restore and create 30 acres of coastal habitats ranging from dunes, marshes and subtidal bottoms, all important to supporting local fish and wildlife. 🐟 These sensitive areas are frequented by over 8 million locals and tourists who visit the Alabama coast every summer, and these restoration efforts will help balance economic and environmental needs for many years to come. We enjoyed seeing the manatees swimming around our dredging site last year. We always stop for manatees when dredging or working on the water.
