The Shenzhen track of our Autumn Supplier Discovery Tour is fully booked. The last places are open on the East China track, 13 to 18 November. If you've been thinking about joining, now is the time.

What the East China week looks like:
โœ… 6 factory visits across Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, on live production floors
โœ… One-to-one matchmaking with factory owners, with 300+ factories expected
โœ… A full day at the 11th Global Sourcing Conference

๐Ÿ“Š On the last tour, attendees met between 41 and 60 verified factories, and almost two in three submitted an RFQ before flying home.

Places are confirmed in the order flights are booked.

โญ Weโ€™re now rated 4.9 on Trustpilot, and our latest review thanks the people who really set Haizol apart: key account managers like Kate, who stay with each buyer project after project ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œHaizol did a great job and my contact, Kate was a terrific asset. The parts were perfect. Sincerely appreciate her work and the Haizol. I look forward to working together on another project soon.โ€
Albert, via Trustpilot

A result like that starts with work most buyers never see. Hereโ€™s what a Haizol key account manager does for every buyer, at no cost:
โœ… Reviews your RFQ before any factory sees it, so the quotes you get back are accurate
โœ… Shortlists factories matched to your part, from thousands of audited manufacturers across 85 Chinese cities
โœ… Builds a China sourcing strategy around your parts
โœ… Stays your go-to contact for every new project you need quoted

Thank you, Albert, and well done, Kate ๐Ÿ‘ Thanks also to all 119 reviewers who got us to 4.9 โญ

Around 90% of your communication with Chinese suppliers will run through WeChat ๐Ÿ“ฑ Set it up before you fly, along with your eSIM and Alipay.

Tom ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง has sourced through two of our tours. What he packs:

โ†’ Drawings and written specifications
โ†’ A laptop as well as your phone
โ†’ Every CAD file downloaded onto the machine itself
โ†’ eSIM, Alipay and WeChat, all working before departure

The file one catches people out. Access to Western cloud services inside China is unreliable, and Tom does not hedge on it: it will be tricky. A drawing you cannot open in the room is the same as a drawing you left at home.

Contact any current suppliers before you travel too, so those meetings can sit alongside the scheduled visits.

Tom joins his third tour in November.

Most people prepare for a sourcing trip by booking flights โœˆ๏ธ Three things actually change what you get out of the week.

โ†’ Message the suppliers you already work with and tell them you are coming. Damien ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท did this before his last trip and met two of his key suppliers the day before matchmaking even opened.
โ†’ Book spare days at the end. Matchmaking surfaces factories that are not on the visit list, and the only way to see those is to still be in the country.
โ†’ Check what else is on that week. In June that gave him half a day at an international technology fair in Shanghai he had not planned for.

Also worth having ready before you arrive: a clear list of what you want to source, drawings or samples, expected quantities, and your questions written down. It cuts a lot of explaining.

None of it is complicated. It is the difference between a full week and a busy one.

3 conferences. Close to 100 companies. A matter of days.

Marta ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฐ on what stood out about the Supplier Discovery Tour: "I liked the intensity. We had the opportunity in very few days to visit a lot of companies. Factory visits are always priceless, because you immediately meet the company, understand their thinking, their processes, everything."

We're looking forward to seeing more members on our Autumn 2026 tour, running November 13-18.

If you are splitting a prototype across three suppliers, you may not need to โš™๏ธ Most of the factories in our network run multiple processes in house, without subcontracting.

Damien ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท went to China expecting specialists. He found workshops running CNC machining, plastic injection and laser cutting side by side, under one roof.

"I thought it would be more specialized."

It changed how he sources. A laser-cut part, a machined part and a 3D printed part can now go through one supplier instead of three, which changes the conversation on lead times, minimum quantities and who owns the tolerance stack when the parts have to fit together.

Worth asking any supplier you are quoting: what else is on your floor?

Rarely on their website. Obvious from the floor.

Damien ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท has 25 years in automotive R&D and runs the same six checks on every Chinese factory he walks into ๐Ÿ”Ž The sixth is the one that matters most.

1. Does it already make components like mine, in my size and manufacturing process
2. What is the quality level and cosmetic appearance of those parts
3. What quality certifications does it hold
4. How clean and well organised is the workshop
5. How is employee safety managed (he had a few surprises here)
6. How big is the metrology laboratory

The number of measuring machines, and the number of people staffed on quality checks, tells you what share of a factory's capacity goes on checking its own work.

That ratio is the one thing you cannot get from a website, a photo set or an inspection report. It is the argument for going.

Matchmaking gives each supplier a short window, so his opening filter is just point 1.

The majority of factories hold ISO 9001, so the certificate tells you almost nothing about which one to pick ๐Ÿ“‹ What separates them only shows up on the floor.

Roland ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ runs a solar and renewable energy business in Nigeria. Three things he checks on every visit:

โ†’ Claimed standard against actual. Several factories told him they run 6S. Standing on the floor he could see some were not managing 5S.
โ†’ What the machinery can genuinely customise, rather than what the capability list says.
โ†’ Manpower against the quoted lead time. If the date needs more people than he can see working, that date is already in trouble.

His projects come from government with the deadline fixed before the order is placed. He would rather find that out in the building than six weeks later.

Look at factories on the internet, he says, and they can give you all sorts of certifications.

What surprises most first-time attendees at the Supplier Discovery Tour? The scale of it.

Marcin ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช: "I'm surprised with the scale of the event. I didn't expect this many contractors and subcontractors to show up and sit in that big hall."

We can't wait to welcome the next group on our Autumn 2026 tour, November 13-18, exclusive to Haizol members.
