Are you interested in a rewarding career in the utility industry?

We are proud to partner with State Community College Housatonic for The Introduction to Utility Gas and Electric program, a 6-week, full-time training program designed to prepare individuals from New Haven and Fairfield Counties for careers in the utility industry.

There are 2 information sessions coming up that you can sign up for:

Virtual: Thursday, September 3 at 5:00 PM
In person: Tuesday, September 8 at 5:00 PM at CT State Housatonic

This summer, SCG trade interns got a firsthand look through hands-on training, field experience, and mentorship from employees across the company. From learning about gas systems to exploring day-to-day operations, they gained valuable insight into an industry that keeps our communities running.

Congratulations to the 10 graduates of UI and SCG's 2026 Summer Trade Internship Program!

Today, the graduating interns presented a demonstration of the skills they learned as they prepare for careers in the electric and natural gas industries.

This 10-week program provides students with training and real-world exposure to utility careers. Thank you to the dedicated instructors and mentors who make this program possible.
