Since placing that headstone in the cemetery, many have asked how they can get this colored glass on a memorial for their loved ones. I knew there was a need and a market for this idea. We have done extensive resea

rch and development in the glass manufacturing and installation process. GlassAct Studios offers an easy way to include permanent color for the memorial industry. The application of our product was designed with the memorial industry in mind. Our basic inlay uses two 1/8” thick layers of glass that are solid fused together. The base usually is a clear or white layer with a solid or semi solid color on top. This fused glass piece, called a glass ingot, gets contour cut with a water-jet. After the basic shape is cut, the glass goes back into the kiln where we stress-relieve the new shape, fire polish the sides of the glass, and anneal the glass to its permanent strength. When properly installed, according to our instructions, these beautiful pieces of art will outlast us all!
