One of our customers sent this photo of a transformer that has battery acid spilled on it. We were able to troubleshoot coils and replace the whole unit with a new nema 3r 15kva transformer to prevent this from happening again.

One thing to focus on when doing any home improvements is to find a knowledgeable and professional contractor. Just because one guy says he can do it for cheaper doesn't mean it will be right. Please be careful out there and research your contractors. That way this doesn't happen to you.

This was under a cast iron bath tub in a home in Zanesville. Plumber did not feel the need to reframe the joists causing a 3 inch sag in the center of the bath. Note this is a 2x10 joist.

When you are replacing anything electrical in your home and this includes receptacles/lights/switches and in this case dual voltage smoke alarms. Please make sure that you verify your connections before you finish the install. This detector here did not have a good connection under the wire nut. This cause the wire nut to actually melt due to the constant arc of the wires touching. This may seem like nothing major but most people would never know that an (ARC Flash) can reach temperatures of up to 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit. All it takes is this minor mistake to potentially catch your house on fire. Please make sure that when swapping fixtures that you make sure you have a secure connection.
