Huge week at the project.
Lots of framing progress, grade beam work moving forward, and forms coming together for both the balcony and garage. Every week this place starts feeling more real, and this was definitely one of those weeks where you step back and realize how far things have come.
But beyond the framing, concrete, drawings, revisions, and all the moving pieces, what I’m most grateful for are the people.
This journey with Luma Dwellings over the past year and a half has challenged me, stretched me, and taught me a lot. But it has also brought some really good people into my life — people I’m genuinely grateful to know and work alongside.
Huge shoutout to Jose, who has been a mentor and someone I consider a friend. His experience, patience, and guidance have meant a lot to me throughout this process.
I’m also grateful for Misa, Aldair, Marvin, Manny, Denver, Omar, Timothy, Michael, Marcus, and everyone else who has helped push this project forward. These guys are all top-notch professionals — highly experienced, skilled, and among the very best in their respective crafts and disciplines.
Especially when it comes to a construction team, it’s really all about the individuals who make up and support that team. It means everything. When you go into a job or a project and everyone is aligned, everyone respects each other, and everyone works well together, that’s when the magic happens.
Truth be told, this is a big part of what drives me to keep going with Luma Dwellings. Yes, I love the design, the construction, the creativity, and the process of building homes — but just as much, I love that this path allows me to be intentional about who I work with every day.
That means a lot to me.
Even with the challenges, delays, stress, and lessons along the way, I’m taking a step back today with gratitude. Grateful for the progress. Grateful for the relationships. Grateful for the friendships. Grateful for the opportunity to keep building.
