Budget Billing is offered by many utilities across the country. It allows homeowners to average out the annual cost of their bills, meaning the home will generally see a more flat or consistent utility cost throughout the year, rather than traditional seasonal spikes.
While this may be a desirable arrangement for homes that don’t qualify for solar, the rate the homeowner pays for power is still subject to increases.
For example, under FPL, the rate we pay for power increased 18.6% as of January 1st, 2022, meaning people in their service area are still subject to this large increase.
By re-allocating this payment into your home’s own renewable system, you are locking in your cost and protected against any future utility rate increases.
Homeowners also enjoy $0 for installation, permitting, and inspections and enjoy a large federal tax credit (SITC) paid as cash.
