Your MSP (Main Service Panel) is the hub where all the homes electricity is controlled. The meter reads how much electricity your house consumes and charges you accordingly. That's how you get invoiced monthly from your utility provider

We tap into your MSP and provide it electricity from your solar system. Before it gets there it must flow through a couple steps:

1. A rapid shutdown disconnect switch needs to be installed before the energy gets to your MSP. This is for fire compliance and safety of the home
2. A solar subpanel is used to combine all branches of circuits into one. The single gauge of wire makes it easier for the shutdown to occur in case of emergencies
3. The SunPower monitoring system makes sure your system is working since it's connected to your solar subpanel. When solar panels are not working, the mySunPower app will alert you
4. Metal electrical conduit protects wires from outside elements. These are connected to your solar arrays that harness the energy from the sun and transport it to your solar subpanel
5. Solar arrays are mounted together with railing systems. This unifies the panels on a single track and applies downforce weight onto your roof. These factors make high winds irrelevant
6. The Sun is the final piece of the equation. Clear skies allow for the photons to travel their 92 million miles and meet their destination. Your home

Once solar system is installed, your goal is to maximize every single panels production and understand where tree shadows lie down in the future. Our software shade forecast modeling will influence where panels are placed initially for lowest tree maintenance. The Customer below has 16.8 kW system with 2 array slopes:

Array 1. Pool screen enclosure shading only effects bottom 7 panels during Winter Solstice. Attached is Summer Solstice of '22 to denote per panel performance on a clear sky day. Palm trees located West of Home will not minimize production

Array 2. Palm trees located East of Home were factored in on initial design. Panels were placed away from shading forecast and foliage growth to not require tree trimming for future years

EMF, RFI, CME, L*D, EMP. What do all these acronyms mean and how do they relate to solar energy?

Today we'll be discussing EMF - ElectroMagnetic Fields & RFI - Radio Frequency Interference

Your television, toaster, electrical outlets, and even the cables that run through your house give off EMF. Microinverters that are attached to the back of solar panels give off a small level of EMF too. The distance from the roof to you, the layers of roof material between microinverter to you, and finally the distance EMF gives off is a couple inches. You will be okay

Our Customer uses his ham radio to listen and communicate to the International Space Station (it's not anything serious). The concern was if there would be RFI when the system was activated. The panels installed have 0 interference with the radio, so now he can tell the astronauts to take out their telescopes and look at his cool solar system from space. Pretty neat

Being by the coast you are subjected to hurricanes, tropical storms, and more turbulent weather. Pair that with not knowing the future of grid stability and that was what made our Customer choose on getting battery backup for the home

The pairing of 2 SunVaults allow for the air conditioning unit to be powered when the utility grid goes out. Your energy consultant will assist at PTO and configure your battery to the correct settings to ensure the health of the lithium-ion cells live to their longest capacity

Typically you don't see solar panels on older historic homes. That's mainly because some people don't want to deal with the hassle of putting up anything on the roof. We'll deal with the hassle. All you have to do is lay down by the pool and enjoy the sunlight that hits your face. Eventually it'll be energy that powers your home

This system has been in operation from 2021 and no issues have been prevalent since start. We did have to install the electrical conduit on the outside because there was no attic access. Our scope is to check every possible scenario to maintain aesthetics on your home

A redundant question to ask is 'Are you sure this will cover my electric bill?'. Every. Single. Company will say '100 percent it will'. Unfortunately that is not the case 100% of the time. So after you will have to purchase a second system, add another layer of electrical complexion to the house, and have 2 sets of solar panels with different warranties/colors/monitoring. Trust us when we say the electric companies do not like that

Do not put yourself in that situation and get everything done right the first time. This 13.18 kW was designed to maximize the entire house and ensure if we do comeback it's to add battery back up storage in the future when it's more cost economic
