Why would someone replace brand-new insulation?
It sounds surprising, but it happens more often than you think.
We’ve walked into homes with 14-15 inches of blown-in insulation, exactly what the builder specified.
We’ve also seen homes with little to no insulation at all.
But sometimes, the issue isn’t thickness.
Its performance.
Traditional blown-in insulation is installed to meet minimum code requirements.
Spray foam is installed to control the building.
That means:
• Controlling air movement
• Managing moisture
• Reducing heat transfer
• Supporting long-term thermal stability
When someone buys what they consider their “forever home,” their mindset changes.
They’re not asking:
“Does this meet code?”
They’re asking:
“Will this perform consistently for the next 20-30 years?”
Replacing brand-new insulation isn’t about fixing something that’s “bad.”
It’s about upgrading to something that performs differently, and investing in long-term control.
