The Battelle Chlorinated Conference kicks off this weekend, and we’re excited to see Brett Bowyer presenting during this premier industry event in Fort Worth.

Battelle’s Chlorinated Conference brings together environmental professionals from across the industry to share innovative technologies and approaches for the characterization, monitoring, cleanup, and management of complex contaminated sites.

Brett’s presentation will explore the treatment of chlorinated hydrocarbons in low-permeability zones through a detailed case study highlighting the design and implementation of a tailored remedial approach for a particularly challenging site impacted by residual DNAPL and long-term back diffusion.

If you’re attending the conference next week, we encourage you to join the session and connect with our team. Safe travels to everyone heading to Fort Worth. We look forward to seeing you there!

This Memorial Day, UES honors and remembers the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy, and we are deeply grateful.

As we enjoy time with loved ones today, let's take a moment to reflect on this legacy and express our deepest gratitude. Please note that all UES offices are closed today in observance of the holiday. We will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 26.

We’re proud to share that Brett Bowyer will be presenting at the Battelle Chlorinated Conference taking place May 31–June 4 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Recognized as the premier gathering for environmental professionals focused on innovative technologies and approaches for the characterization, monitoring, cleanup, and management of complex contaminated sites, Battelle’s Chlorinated Conference brings together industry leaders tackling some of the most challenging environmental issues.

Brett’s platform session will focus on the treatment of chlorinated hydrocarbons in low-permeability zones — a significant challenge for mature sites impacted by residual DNAPL and long-term back diffusion. His presentation will highlight a complex case study and the design and implementation of a tailored, innovative remedial approach to support site closure objectives.

The session will also feature additional case studies involving chlorinated sites with fine-grained soils, providing valuable insight for environmental professionals across the industry.

If you’ll be attending this year’s conference, be sure to join Brett’s session. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our Orlando offices came together at the end of April to participate in the AdventHealth Corporate 5k, showing up with energy and plenty of team spirit.

From those running the course to those supporting behind the scenes, it was a great opportunity to connect outside of the workday and represent Team UES in the community.

Participants and volunteers, thank you so much for representing —we’re proud of the way you showed up and supported one another.

We’re excited to kick off another project at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, continuing a long-standing partnership that spans more than two decades of campus growth.

This latest project will deliver a new seven-story residential dorm with an integrated parking structure. To support the heavily loaded foundations, ground improvement is being implemented using Rammed Aggregate Piers—helping ensure long-term performance and stability.

UES provided the geotechnical evaluation and is actively supporting construction through materials testing and threshold inspection services, bringing a full-service approach from design through ex*****on.

We’re proud to have supported ERAU’s continued expansion over the years, including work on the Mori Hosseini Student Union, recognized with the AISC IDEAS Award and the AL Light & Architecture Design Award for its distinctive, flight-inspired design.

We are looking forward to another successful project with a valued partner.

🚶‍♂️ Walking is Working Wednesday 🚧

As Construction Safety Week continues, it’s a great time to focus on the everyday actions that keep our teams safe, starting with something as routine as walking.

Whether you’re moving between tasks, heading to a meeting, or navigating a job site, walking is not “downtime.” It is an active part of the workday and a key moment of exposure to risk.

Slips, trips, and falls. Struck-by hazards. Uneven surfaces. Changing conditions. Active equipment. These risks don’t pause just because you are between tasks. They are present every step of the way.

This week, and every week, take a moment to stay alert, watch your path, and be aware of your surroundings. Small actions make a big impact in keeping yourself and your teammates safe.

At UES, safety isn’t just part of the job. It’s part of every step we take.

This week, UES joins companies across the country in recognizing Construction Safety Week—an industry-wide initiative dedicated to reinforcing our shared commitment to keeping every team member safe, every day.

This year’s Construction Safety Week theme is All In Together: Recognize, Respond, Respect. By being All In Together, living our STRIVE values—especially Safety, Teamwork, and Responsiveness—we work together to protect ourselves, our team members, our clients, and the communities we serve.

Every safe decision we make protects lives, strengthens our culture, and reinforces who we are as an organization. Let’s make this week—and every week—about working safely and going home safely.
