In 1941, Dräger introduced the Modell 10 —the world’s first modern self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting. For the first time, responders could carry compressed air on their backs —about ten minutes of breathable air for short-term rescues. No hoses. No tethers. Just clean air, mobility, and freedom to fight fire head-on.
The Modell 10 set the standard for every air pack that followed —arriving years before similar designs from U.S. manufacturers. By the late 1940s, American fire departments were taking notice, laying the groundwork for the SCBAs still trusted today. Dräger didn’t just invent the first —we helped define what firefighter protection means.

Congratulations Chief Revoldt!

The City of Orlando Fire Department would like to congratulate Jason Revoldt for his appointment by Orlando Mayor Buddy to Interim-Fire Chief effective today, October 18, 2025, following the resignation of Fire Chief Charlie Salazar.

With 24 years of distinguished service, Chief Revoldt brings extensive operational and leadership experience across all areas of the department as he holds certifications as a State of Florida Paramedic, Law Enforcement Officer, FBI Bomb Technician, and Arson K-9 Handler.
Previous to the appointment, Revoldt was Life Safety Bureau Deputy Chief where he oversaw new construction and development, the Arson & Bomb squad, community outreach and safety, and the Fire Marshal's office.

We’re thankful for Chief Salazar’s stewardship and would like to once again congratulate Chief Revoldt on his new role.

Overhaul isn’t a cooldown — it’s still mission-critical.
The PSS 7000 SCBA by Dräger is built for comfort and endurance, so staying on air never feels like
a burden. With its pivoting waist belt, balanced weight distribution, and secure fit, you can keep
your mask on and your guard up when hidden toxins linger long after the flames are out.

Stop boxing up gas meters for off-site service. X-dock by Dräger turns your firehouse into a fully automated service bench, so detectors stay where they belong—ready to roll.
Three options for every station:

5300 –A single bump station, perfect for single-company stations.

6300 –You can start small, then add bays as your inventory expands.

6600 –Arrives pre-wired for a large department from day one. Ten simultaneous tests—ideal for firehouses that manage a lot of instruments.
Why it beats the off-site shuffle:

Closed-lid bump & auto-Calin the time it takes to grab a coffee

Uses 40 % less test gas—stretch those cylinders and grant dollars

Prints a PASS label and pushes results straight to Dräger Gas Detection Connect—no clipboards, no manual data entry

12-V kit lets you mount a dock in the command unit for on-scene checks

Two-year dock warranty; your Dräger sensors keep their 5-year coverage
