We're excited to have DeAnna Pinnow, Ph.D. join the QIC team as our Human Performance Team Lead!

Dr. Pinnow is a Human Performance and Research Specialist with over 8 years of experience spearheading applied research and development projects for government and industry clients. Her expertise spans the areas of cognitive neuroscience, neurotechnology, brain health, implementation science, technology-based training, human factors, and instructional design. She holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation and Health Science from the University of Kentucky, a M.A., in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Michigan State, and a B.S. in Education and Human Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research interests include the development of technology-based solutions to optimize performance across a variety of environments.

From the desk of Dr. Jennifer Solberg, Founder and CEO of QIC:

As you might have noticed, this was a big year for us at QIC. As we continue to grow, it’s important to me that we maintain our focus on what makes us great: producing quality products that sit at the cutting edge of our industry. Learning technology is moving faster than it ever has, and I wanted to make sure we’re consistently aligned with our industry’s needs. So, I’m proud to announce some promotions in our company!

First, Dr. Julian Abich is now the leader of our XR team. Throughout his tenure, he’s led projects designing, developing, and evaluating immersive training, and has grown into a trusted voice for all things XR. I’m looking forward to working with him to shape the direction of that line of work.

Also, Dr. Grace Teo has been promoted to Lead Learning Scientist. Over the years, Grace has become QIC’s resident data science expert. Scientific rigor is important to all of us, but Grace is the one who will raise a ruckus if there’s a better way for us to do our work (and she’s pretty much always right). In this role, she will be advising across our projects to ensure we’re keeping abreast of emerging methodologies and performing our research in the best way possible.

Both Julian and Grace naturally assumed these roles on their own, and I was happy to reward them for their hard work…with more work. Cheers to them, and I’m looking forward to an even bigger 2025!
