Heat pump reversing valve was leaking. (See the little white bubbles) These are tricky to repair without replacing the entire valve. Get it too hot during the brazing process, and you'll need to replace it anyway. Wrapping the valve with a wet cloth and heating in just the right spot to get the brazing rod to flow for a good seal takes practice. (Careful. Don't flow to much rod and plug the tiny cap tube :-o )

I just don't understand why I find so many refrigerant service caps loose on new customer call outs. Seems like 50% of them are loose and of those loose caps I find about 50% of them leaking. I just don't get why other service techs fail to tighten the caps.

A fully stocked truck pays better than any interest-bearing account that I know of. Less trips to the supply house and of course the willingness to work well into the night, doesn't hurt the bottom line either. Besides that, I really like being able to tell the customer that they're going to be able to sleep in a cool house TONIGHT.
