School is back in session in just a matter of weeks! 🎒✏️ For many homeowners, this time can bring real financial pressure trying to balance back-to-school expenses and a mortgage. That is why making a spending plan can make a big difference.

One way to help, is to take advantage of Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday! Now through Aug. 20, qualifying items like school supplies, clothing, footwear, learning aids, backpacks and personal computers may be exempt from sales tax, with certain price limits.

Meet Cheryl, one of our amazing Habitat Crew Leaders! 🔨🏠 Crew Leaders are skilled volunteers who help guide less-experienced volunteers teaching basic construction tasks and creating welcoming experiences on our build sites.

“Being a crew leader can be really rewarding,” Cheryl said. “Watching someone go from apprehensive to confident in just a couple of hours is great.”

We're always looking for new crew leaders to join our team! You don’t need professional construction experience, just confidence with basic tools and a passion for helping others. We’ll teach you the rest.

Crew Leaders guide volunteers on the build site, share basic construction knowledge, and help create an encouraging experience for everyone. You don't have to have professional construction experience (we'll provide training!) but a little experience with tools goes a long way.
