We love seeing a project come to fruition! It’s always a pleasure working with departments to meet their skid unit needs.

Building a new apparatus like the 2081 Grass Truck is a major financial investment, and we want to send a huge thank you to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for helping us shoulder that cost.

Through the DNR's fire protection grant program, we were able to cover 50% of the cost of our new rear skid unit. For those who might not know, the skid unit is the heart of the truck. It is the actual firefighting pump, water tank, and hose setup in the bed of the truck. Covering half of that expense is a massive contribution toward our project goals. Thanks to their program and their staff's efforts, we were able to drastically reduce the final cost of this build for our community.

We also need to thank the folks who built that unit. We purchased the slide-in unit from KIMTEK Corporation . We want to specifically recognize the owner, Kimball Johnson, and Chelsea Cummings in their sales department. They worked directly with us to develop a skid unit that perfectly met the specific needs of our department.
