🚨 PSA on how to stay warm in the frigid weather we are experiencing:
Keep home warm, once it’s too cold you have lost the battle. Heat Pump Systems (Mostly what everyone has) do not provided heat once temperatures get below 40 degrees, then you are just running electric back up or emergency heat, in these temperatures it will only feel like your system is blowing cold air all night long.
Here is how to combat that:
1- Try not to turn heat off during the day thinking your saving money, you will double or even triple the cost trying to heat up the home when you get home.
(This is the hardest for most to comprehend)
2- Heat during the day when temperaturesare above 40 degees to heat efficiently
3- Maintaining that warmth is easier to do throughout the night once your home is warm.
Note: If you have gas heat then this doesnt apply to you.
