Jesus replaced the multitude of Laws and commandments we'd received in the beginning with the two mentioned in the verse. But if you pay attention closely, you will realize all the commandments are summed up in these two commandments. The Christian life is about loving God in our actions, our thoughts, and our words. It is also about treating every person we encounter with love, free of prejudice and resentment.Dear God, I ask that you help me abide by the commandments, applying your word in my life so that my love for you will be evident to everyone around me, in truth and sincerity. I also ask that you help me love every person around me, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

It is never too late to turn back to the Lord, to see His light. There is almost nothing in this world more beautiful, more memorable as ministers than seeing His children admitting into the faith and finding their salvation, to see this very illumination of Gods grace upon their faces. We should know that even those of us who have been devout followers all our lives, this turning towards God can be just as new and just as beautiful, just as new, should always strive to look for His light in every aspect of our lives.
Lord God my savior and salvation, clothe my spirit in Your warmth and mercy and ordain me once again into Your Paradise. Grant Your light to all Your children, old and new, for under Your roof we know there is always room, always light. Amen.

This woman taken in the act of adultery was guilty, but they did not bring the man involved in the adultery to be stoned. And all those gathered around were sinners themselves. Jesus had mercy on her, but he told her in verse 11, "Go and sin no more. "
O Lord, when we think of our own failings, of how much we ourselves have sinned, how can we think ourselves better than others? how can we look down on them when we are as guilty as they? We all need your forgiveness. We all need your grace. Teach us to love others, and help us to turn from sin more and more day by day. Amen.

It is hard to imagine how our Jesus, holy and perfect in every way, came to live on earth amongst men. In our world full of sin and everything that opposes the light, he was birthed as a baby and lived his life among men. He became man so that he may take on man's sin on the cross. Without living as man, Jesus would not have been able to reconcile mankind to our Lord. And, Jesus did it all knowing he would have to suffer for us. It is amazing love.
Dear God, thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ, to live as a man on earth so that he may die for our sins. We know we do not deserve this atonement and it is only because of your mercy and grace that we have been liberated from sin and reconciled to you, O Lord. You are holy and precious to us. Help us to tell others about your good news. In Jesus' name, amen.

"Hope" implies something future that is guaranteed but that is not yet seen. Men do not hope for that which they already see or possess. (verse 24) It requires the faith and patience as we wait for our hope to be fulfilled. We must run with patient endurance the race set before us before we can claim the prize at the end.
You give us true hope, Lord, hope that is based on the surest thing in all the universe, even on Your promise. Give us the faith to hope for things yet unseen; give us the patience to endure all things without losing sight of our hope. You, Lord, are our Hope and our everlasting Reward. Amen.
