Subject: The Productivity of Aluminum Can Recycling

If you are Recycling cans in your single use recycling curbside container, you cannot crush your cans. Please place them in the recycling bin intact. If you would like to continue to crush your cans, please see the information below for a drop off location.

Crushed cans confuse the sorting machines and end up in the paper sections of the sorters. This causes batches to be unacceptable for transfer and head to the dump instead to be recycled. You can bring crushed cans to the Fox Valley Iron & Metal Recycling Center at 3446 Witzel Ave, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The hours of operation and contact information are below. The current rate for Aluminum is .53 cent per pound.

Please be sure that if you place cans in your curbside recycling bin, you are not crushing them. This will ensure that as much of the material is recycled as possible at our facility
